My god PS4 network speeds are astrocious. Sony capping people speeds(Study Vid)

PS4 speeds are working fine for me here.

I have 100D/100U Verizon Fios.
I'm using a proxy server through Privoxy and I'm monitoring my download speeds through Netlimiter. shyt's downloading fast as hell.

The best way is to pause the download, run the connection test on the PS4 (which somehow resets the connection), and resume the download. If you're lucky you'll be downloading at max speed afterwards. It might take a few tries but it generally works for me (until it stops working again).


I've had much less success with just pause/unpause. Running the test or physically unplugging the ethernet cable in-between worked so much more frequently for me that I doubt it's just placebo. I have the feeling that it's actually a bug in the PS4 FW, since there is absolutely no consistency.

Seems like the CDN they use is crappy.

Yes, @Leasy is pro Xbox most of the time. I'm just saying I thought this was known already since I've always noticed this on my consoles.

If people are really getting the same speeds, more power to them. Fatboi is the only one who is getting fast speeds on his PS4 because of some extra steps that a lot of people aren't going bother with anyway. That's good to know though. But for me, like I said, I don't have any connectivity issues with my PS4 right now, I was just pointing out that there is a speed difference among devices.

I don't have lag and my ping is usually perfect even on WiFi, I know I should be getting 80mbps rather than 20 mbps. 6 mb is enough to play online anyway.

PS4 and Vita speeds have been fine, Vita better than PS4. My PS3 is fukking horrible. i don't know if it is because I have an OG 60GB PS3 but that shyt is pitiful.

Breh post some stats we need to analyze this and send this shyt to the media outlets. Network speeds getting capped is something barbaric ISPs do.

I have seen a difference in speed between my PS4 and laptop, but the PS4 was still going fast enough, both DL and online gaming for me not to complain about it. That said, the difference was fairly huge for the highest I've seen my laptop get (106 megs down) to the highest my PS4 got (54 megs) or so. I also seem to have a really shyt upload speeds all across teh board. My router is outdated tho, so I figure that'll fix that issue when I cop a new one.
