If my dream platform existed and came with those perceived issues, I would still have no worries. In fact, if it existed, and had those issues, I would probably buy 400+ games on it over the course of 10 years.

Ok I thought of some new good features for this dream platform:

Ability to share my entire library with a few friends and family for free
Stream games from one machine to another
Maintain compatibility with aforementioned control inputs plus something that would make mouse and keyboard games playable on the couch. Some sort of dual trackball, touchpad controller. Maybe with haptics to provide some physical feedback.
Compatible virtual reality devices
