Oh yea, In the horror thread I actually posted the link with the "Candyman" first look. Nia Diacosta was showcasing scenes from the movie and talking about the approach she took for the sequel.

I mean the people writing the script for the movie had to type out his name multiple times - that makes no sense. You have to look in the mirror for him to appear is the legend. Just like The Ring wouldn’t work today because no one had a vhs tape or vhs player.

Freddy, and for a few reasons.
1. Candyman isn't really much of a villain. He was persecuted and lynched during his life, and even as a ghost, in the 1st film, I'm pretty sure he only kills one person. Maybe two.
2. Freddy is legitimately evil. Both during his life and after death.
3. Candyman can't really let you as long as you don't say his name in the mirror.
4. Freddy can get you where you're most vulnerable, in your dreams, and no matter what you cannot live without dreaming.
