Word. Just insane thought out planned concedeneed that just happens
Wow, that documentary blew my mind. So many facts I wasn't aware of. Just...wow.

I was under the impression that Puff got involved with the Compton Crips BECAUSE of his beef with Suge. Now, one might speculate that his involvement with the crips is the whole reason Suge disliked him in the first place. He was fukking with them since 93, before Biggie and Pac even had a "feud". They were in the club with Puff when Suge body guard got whacked? It all makes sense now.

I came away from this documentary feeling like Puff was the bigger aggressor. His camp dealt the first blow, and they took fewer losses in the end. A lot of Suge's guys got whacked, and he ended up broke and incarcerated (take that take that take that:takedat:). Both men are scum but I think Puff was in a better position to prevent Pac and Biggie's deaths. As a diehard 90s hip hop fan I'll never forgive him.
My thoughts EXACTLY. Now it makes sense why Suge said to Puff "I think you had something to do with this," when his man Jake was killed.
I had never understood that up until this point

I don't know how old are posters here but I remember vividly how this whole shyt was covered by cacs (media and police): The general consensus was "good riddance" (even on MTV, not just the news stations).
Tupac wasn't this icon that he is today back then. He was just trouble, that's how the media always presented him (a lot of black folks resented him too, as he was always seen as out of control). Every time I turned on the TV and saw his face, my first reaction would be "uh oh, what has he done now?" MTV always introduced him as "controversial rapper Tupac Shakur..." So when he died the news coverage was extremely negative, borderline gloating.
Biggie's death was icing on the cake, especially for cacs who couldn't resist connecting the murders of "two dumb thugs."

Amazingly, Tupac's posthumous image underwent the most drastic transformation of any artist I can recall... Funny how nikkas become safer to embrace after death (see MLK, Malcolm)

good point, i remeber keith richards of rolling stones fame saying some disparaging thing about rappers back then, alongs the lines of "hopefully they will all kill themselves off", and to be honest, i still get the feeling rap is still hated even now. its given a grudging respect, but not really loved. the only rappers who i feel are legit in terms of broad appeal are eminem and kanye.

:jbhmm: For some reason..........I wouldn't be surprised if Puffy just wanted Suge gone. Nobody was stunting Pac without that Suge connection. Pac jumping on ol boy is pretty much what did him in....I think if that didn't happen when the time really came it would just be Suge.
