LAD 95-97 biggie was a monster monster monster
All my other fav peak mcs peaks are close, but they didnt master the commercial aspects of what big did which makes him more loved. There's other rappers id say are ahead of him based on multiple albums for decades and they technically had better careers, but zero peaked higher and even those close didnt do it commercially as biggie is peak hip hop listening experience for everyone almost. Ive seen plenty old white men who never listened to hip hop in their life go crazy over biggie. Old and young. Any race. Its almost instinctual across the board. You cant hate the guy. The perfect blend of characteristics few people have. One of a kind.

How the hell was that not a conversation starter among ya boys? Y'all obviously weren't really into Hip Hop if that wasn't something that wasn't brought up at some point when talking about that video when it dropped.
And if you don't understand how Pac having to use Biggie to promote his album gives Biggie the edge then you just don't know Hip Hop history. It's the old strategy of using someone who is popular and/or loved to get momentum and to get people talking.(Thats why you sound off saying ya boys weren't talking about Pac getting at Biggie) Kool Moe Dee did it with Busy Bee....BDP did it with Shan......Tim Dog did it to NWA......50 Cent did it to the whole industry with "How To Rob"...Jay Z did it to Nas. Remy did it to Nicki. Obviously you are unfamiliar with this tradition because every time it was done by a rapper it was for promo.
Let me also add....Pac was going to use Biggie to promote Makaveli in his original back cover. All thru out 96 Pac was using Biggie as promo because Biggie was the top dawg and Pac was aiming at the crown. Thats why Biggie gets the edge because Pac knew who had the crown and went after it.
-Pac came at Biggie because they had real life issues, not because of a crown. All the other shyt's irrelevant because it has nothing to do with the music they put out.

You admitting that you didn't give a fukk about the beef till Hit Em up means you were a half a year late and weren't a real fan. I was all over it in January, watching MTV footage and reading The Source and you didn't catch on till June. That's why you can't relate to anything I'm saying, you weren't up on it like the real fans were. And you must've been in a coma these past few years because in 2025 we all know Biggie had nothing to do with Pacs shooting, there were no "real life issues." And that's the part I left out. Pac lying about Biggie being involved in Pacs shooting was the #1 thing Pac used as promo. Every time he mentioned being shot 5 times on All Eyes On Me that was a reference to Biggie. How the hell could you not think of Biggie every time Pac mentioned being shot 5 times if that's who he accused? LOL. This is why you sound off because it was impossible to not think of Biggie every time he said that shyt. Pac really had us believing Biggie did have him shot. So decades later when we learn Pac had lied on Biggie, all we can do is conclude that Pac lied on Biggie for promo. And you can't squirm out of that FACT.
All of that nonsense doesn't make him a better emcee or lyricist than PAC.
Considering that Puff is locked up and the only thing we hear about Biggie is either his connection to Tupac beef and muthafuggas gossiping about his sexuality because of his

He is a major inspiration for Push... He said on Lord willin he was tryna rap like Big as far as cadence and flows... But is also his favorite rapper...Sidebar: Anybody else think Pusha T is eerily similar to Big with the raps? May be just me and how I listen to the shhit,. Totally different voice and presence so it’s easy to miss, but the bars are madd similar, I can hear that Big is probably his inspiration in rap.

U gotta really comprehend what I'm saying. Lyrically Nas is top notch but when it comes to cadence voice infections energy, of course is not even close, DMX is way more powerful in those areas. It's not just about the content of the story it's also HOW you are telling the story. And to me Nas is not doing much more than spitting dope lyrics

If Nas had released I AM as planned(with the Original songs that supposed to have made the cut) He would have been cemented in 99. He literally had the do the whole album over from scratch because 60 percent of that shyt was bootlegged heavily. He then took some of them other songs and put them on Nastradamous
