And Scully, despite encountering tons of monsters, aliens, and all types of weird shyt, kept telling herself there had to be a rational answer. She kept being a skeptic through some incredible shyt in those first few seasons.
:mjlol:

That's the part that made me mad! Aliens abducted her, probed her booty and everything and she came back telling Mulder that there has to be a rational answer

Mulder was giving her the :dahell:

Im currently on season 5 of a binge watch. Great series overall, really only complaint I have is they never solve a single case so far. They just bumble around. Sure they'll catch the murderer, but they never actually solve the real underlying cause. Mulder might get lucky and float the theory out there, but never once does he acquire a single shred of proof :dwillhuh:

I'm hoping somewhere down the line they get it togethor :mindblown:

The general incompetence. wild suppositions, and sense of futility makes it among the more accurate portrayals of law enforcement.

Did they ever mention wtf happened to that invasion that was supposed to happen that they was preparing for???:what: its like that was the whole point but they never touched on if it happened or it was averted in the movies... WTF man!!!:why:

"X-Files" has a bad rep for stringing viewers along and not resolving anything (which is another reason why Vince Gilligan made "Breaking Bad", but I digress) but if it ended after 5 seasons, pretty much everything makes sense. Then they'd occasionally make a movie to continue the story.

The problem is, the show was so successful they got renewed for seasons 6 and 7....which means they had to kind of pull stuff out of their ass to keep the story going. The arc you're referring to was actually resolved half way through season 6, with "Two Fathers". So they kept the story somewhat coherent for a bit after 5.

But then they got renewed again, for seasons 8 and 9. :francis:

I was a rabid 12/13 year old X Files fan, watched every Sunday night on Fox, saw the movie first day. If I turned 13 in 1998, by the time David Duchovonoy left the show, I did too. That last 2 years of 1997 and 1998 were iconic childhood moments. The show never recovered after the movie, to my recollection. There are some great episodes from the 1999 part too, the one with the planned community, and the one with a monster at a fast food place. After that season, I was done.

What season was the Luke Wilson sheriff/vampire one?

IMO Two Fathers/One Son were the last good mythology episode from X-Files.

After that 2-part episode I barely remember any of the mythology.

Not really. They show the audience more info then the agents know, sure... But they never go into detail about the plot. They leave it extremely vague. I need answers dammit :damn:
The writers cannot explain all the f****** crazy s*** that these agents are being told to investigate with some kind of scientific explanation
