Gunman in Jacksonville shooting had history of mental illness, records show

pretty detailed story on the shooters mental health history. Just shows how much of a joke the process of legally purchasing a gun is, he simply lied about his background on the form and there was no sort of background check.

They still didn't mention a specific illness. They just said he took antipsychotics and antidepressants. However, the article does confirm that the guy was a nutcase and had no business owning a gun.

The gun laws are fine the way they are. Dude was just on one has nothing to do with laws. Killers are going to kill regardless. RIP to the victims this is a sad story.

The article also confirms the guy had no business being enabled with video games by his mother like that. Sounds like a heroin addict on withdrawals with she took them away from him. :stopitslime:

You can find articles about his bipolar disorder for the guy as well as depression. He'd been hospitalized for it and his parents even sent him to therapy retreats.

This is one of the cases where it was real as fukk and I honestly can't knock the parents either because they really tried short of formally institutionalizing him.

Mental health is some serious shyt. There's absolutely times when its used as a blanket excuse/cover or some made up bullshyt like "affluence", faux aspergers, etc - but they got records on the guy already.

Guy simply shouldn't have been able to buy a gun at all.

This dude is well documented -gone- breh. And unlike many parents, they poured resources into getting him help all through his life. He should've never been allowed anywhere near firearm.
