They actually have more emotion in their faces than the remake. It seems they took the criticism to heart

He's an ideal father figure that dies to save his son contributing to his son's story arc. He was never supposed to be a fully fleshed out character with his own story arc. He's a prop in his son's development for the audience to project positive fatherhood on.

This obsession with making prequels is disturbing. I get it execs sit back and ask how can we make something that ties into a franchise and grabs it's audience's attention. Their solution frequently seems to be let's make a prequel. If we're being real most prequels are just filler content to pad out a backstory in a cash grab. The beginning is set and the end is set so they just pad it with meaningless content that either does nothing or answers questions most people don't care about the answers to because they know how it ends anyway.
So yall dont think a well written story of how Mufasa become king, along with how Scar got his scar and why he grew to hate him is worth a story?

You know damn well this ain't finna be well written :mjlol:

It'd be nice, but Disney has been horrible with their remakes and sequels to classic franchises. I don't expect this to be much different :manny:

Yeah you're right they aren't capable of making compelling story out of this

The way Disney hires diverse indie or serious directors to helm their slop is rather disgusting to me.

Instead of getting an African artist to do the music, they choose Lin-Manuel Miranda?!?!

Trash :mjlol:
To be fair, the music from these types of movies are sing along musical/theater type music.
Miranda is the perfect choice to try to recreate those: Can you feel the love tonight, I just can't wait to be king, Hakuna Mutata type songs.
