I don't recall Pac being on some "extravagant lifestyle playa type shyt" at the time Ready to Die was recorded & released... his music was on some dark shyt and centered around street/life reality type topics. I don't think you can attribute Big's "swag" to Pac. Seemed more Big Daddy Kane-ish to me :ld:
fukk swag...Big stole Pac's album concept :russ:

Nas was a nice ny rapper, lmao.

He was called the 2nd coming of Rakim, you know how big of a statement that is?

Gtfoh Harryonce.

If that's such a huge statement why the hell shouldn't the first coming of Rakim just be on there instead of Nas:mjlol:? And im about to get called out for bias but after seein some of the criteria in here I gotta throw Too Shorts name into the mix:salute:....everybody talkin about who influenced who, what about Too Short influencing both Jay and Biggie, and appearing on albums by both....Short the reason ya favorite rapper say "bytch" like they do,bought the sexual, pimp player shyt to its peak, bought the game to the mainstream:banderas:....showed the world how to use the 808 right:obama:...spawned the uprising of one of the greatest regions in the history of hiphop...Jay,Nas,Biggie aint put Brooklyn or Queens on the hiphop map, that gotta count for extra credit for something:manny:...Short is relevant in multiple eras

:mjlol: ...Nas wife put Short on the track and played Nas like a simp she was so inspired by Short "that's right im the one that's tattooed on his arm,im bossay"....if that don't get Nas off this list in place of Short I don't know what does....so far I feel like ive made valid arguments for the removal of Biggie and Nas....Cube,Pac,Too Short,Jayz just feels so right:banderas:

The list is correct.

Those were the best artists during the best period of hip hop music. Case closed.

"Nas was a nice rapper from NY". Wow. You can't waste time talking to somebody posting shyt like that.

That's like saying Magic Johnson is this nice baller from LA.

The only other artists I can think of are Melle Mel and LL Cool J. Ice Cube is really close.

As for Nas impact/influence... every MC in NY switched they whole shyt up when Illmatic dropped.

He was influencing rappers during the best era of music.

I know Biggie's time was short, but the mania that he generated plus his classics keeps him in that top 4.

And Bay being one of the greatest hip hop regions:lolbron:

Be ignorant and don't een know it brehs:lolbron:...Lemme just wipe Biggies name out the discussion real quick....his impact hinges on the west coast directly, entirely too much for him to be on here over a west coast great like Cube or Short:mjlol:...And lets be honest Snoops buzz and impact on his debut is a whole different level from Biggie, the anticipation for him as an EMCEE and for his album was far greater, and the quality of his debut is superior...but lets take a look here, shades of King Tees flow, sleeping on Pacs couch and stealing Pacs concept and sound for his debut....the obvious biting of the gfunk wave....the east coast media desperately pushing him hoping to knock off the west who was in the top spot, the second half of his career revolving around the beef Pac had with him and what he would say in response to Pac which was nothing btw....E40 sparing his life in one of the greatest hiphop regions of all time:steviej:...unless nikkas holding that whole lil him gettin killed in Cali thing against the west which would be petty:whoa:these are all truths and I don't care who like it.

Name 4 rappers outside of Jay, Pac, and BIG more influential than Nas

Lil Wayne :heh:
50 Cent :aicmon:

Only person I can think of is Raekwon as he birthed that whole mid 90s mafioso shyt that Biggie, Nas and Jay used to transform and broaden their appeal

G rap and Face were doing mafiaoso rap way before then, Rae didn't birth it.

you need to include kool g rap. dude perfected the multi syllable and mafioso/street style that so many dudes ran/run with. when you make rakim switch his style up then you know you're something. besides that i really have no problem with your list. the whole point is you can't have sons on there without their fathers(founding fathers). if this mount rushmore is based on popularity then i can understand it. no one will be equal to these dudes with their amount of skill/popularity.
rakim has to be on there too tho...

Exactly. It's another myth that gets parroted. Just like Nas & Snoop, Tupac only got on some flossy 'don' shyt after Rae & Big made it hot. Before Death Row his whole Image was Karl Kani, Snapbacks, Bandana's, Dungaree's etc

originally from the 'ville
The four in the original thread aren't bad, but someone could convince me to put kanye, andre 3k, rakim or ll on there.

If I was to put one of the above on, I would probably take out Big, just because I don't know if he has the catalogue...

this is tough
