Run DMC ushered in the new school. People tend to call any rap artist that has been out more than 5 yrs old school. That's disrespecting the true old schoolers from 73-82.
Ok well, I had a very small idea of speaking in 1982 so im going to just go with what i know, friend.

lets look at the real mt rushmore

george washington, Thomas jefferson, Theodore rosevelt and Abraham lincoln.

you have to find rappers who had comparable impact on the music as those dudes did on america.

george washington-melle mel- original cat to break away from old ways and define the new enterprise of mcing.
thomas jefferson-rakim-our most articulate artist.
theodore rosevelt-scarface-made the narrative aspect of rap more complicated.
abraham lincoln-2pac - most consensus for universal goat

BIG didn't release enough material. I'm into lyricists and 2Pac is nothing special. 2pac image>>>>2pac the rapper. Jay-Z I can kinda understand, but he wouldn't make my list.

I would put Nas with Rakim, and the other 2 spots are open waiting for artists on their level.:wtb:

dude, Mt Rushmore was based on a smaller sample of presidents. If they did it now, would it include all the same figures? Maybe 2 of the 4..yeah

you need to include kool g rap. dude perfected the multi syllable and mafioso/street style that so many dudes ran/run with. when you make rakim switch his style up then you know you're something. besides that i really have no problem with your list. the whole point is you can't have sons on there without their fathers(founding fathers). if this mount rushmore is based on popularity then i can understand it. no one will be equal to these dudes with their amount of skill/popularity.
rakim has to be on there too tho...
Y do you think that Kool G made Rakim switch his style...just curious.
