I thought we covered his trauma from his Dad being dead and/or getting pushed out the window by him?
Not good enough, we need him to be a rape victim to? It's just a lot.

There was always a mystery about that though. It seemed like an overreaction that his father would push him out the window for "telling mom", but I alwaus thought of it as an accident. But with the latest reveal, him jumping out the window out of fear of molestation makes more sense, or even if he feared retaliation after telling his mom. The episode with Elliott and the little boy makes more sense now too. It's almost as if he was living out his father's grooming experience without the molestation to convince himself that the good times with his father could be sincere and not just grooming tactics, cause that's how we WANTS to view his dad.

Re-watching this, realizing Elliot wasn't pissed that his dad pushed him out the window for telling his mom that he had cancer, but because he was molesting Elliot.

The sexual abuse doesn't explain his motivations behind the hack, it muddies it. Dude was seeking revenge for a person he now realizes didn't deserve that shyt.

Was that his only motivation? Mr. Robot/Elliot seemed to also be doing it for society at large as well.
And now that we are this far into the story he still needs to do it for Angela, right?

The thing is though (and it gets muddy) but Mr. Robot isn't a pedo. Elliot's dad was. Mr Robot is an idealized version of who he wishes his dad was. Strong and willing to protect him and keep him safe.

he was quoting Marcellus Wallace.... the same line Marcellus said after he got molested by Zed and friends

I'm on reddit, and they said the twist also explains why he hates being touched This nikka Sam thought of everything.

It really makes sense too. In one of my psych classes they explained that multiple personality disorder stems from trauma (and I think most people know that) but they said it's almost always sexual trauma in particular.

Yo this reddit post from two years ago was dead-on and may contain more information that might reveal itself.

This is why I’ve avoided that subreddit and hate when people bring it up. Theories after theories deciphering every single thing, and it ends up being right most of the time. I’m still taken back by what happened, this episode might have broken me brehs. My issue is a few brought up this “twist” a few episodes ago, once again killing the hype a little bit. Think I’ll avoid this thread until after the finale. Best live thread in The Coli, but I need to be 100% surprise.

The rewatch is going to be tough to watch now. You want me at my highest form of hatred, mention anything pedo/child abuse related. Damn the final 6 is going to destroy our minds.

Yeah, last part I certainly agree with. We re-introduce Vera for this?! Could have just used the doctor I think, but whatever.

Looking back at it... it had to be Vera. Vera and his goons were not part of Dark Army so it was a different kind of threat to divert Elliot's obsession to take down White Rose.

Not only that as psycho as Vera was he saw clear as day there was something dark lurking inside Elliot and only he could bring it out. Though it seems like Krista somewhat knew which makes me question why she didn't bring out this revelation to Elliot in the first place.
