Yeah I get all that but just step out of the story and just review the facts of the characters experience. It's a fukkin' a lot and it kinda stretches the believability of the show. Nothing is ruined or anything I would have just preferred this wasn't the case.

I really don't see how. It explains a lot of the character's behavior and his way of distracting himself from it was the catalyst that brought on the things in motion that led to him fukking with some real powerful people. I will say though that all these major events happening within the span of two days is a bit unbelievable though.

Completely disagree. It's a completely logical and a common chain of events with clildhood trauma. There is usually some underlying trauma in play when kids become dissociative and closed off. I could see if it was just thrown in there but this show was written to conclusion from its inception.
I thought we covered his trauma from his Dad being dead and/or getting pushed out the window by him?
Not good enough, we need him to be a rape victim to? It's just a lot.

But you believed his reasoning for trying to sabotage E-Corp. before the reveal right? If so, you can see how this comes off as unnecessary.
Being a subversive prick who wants to take down powerful people has little to nothing to do with being raped as a kid. A lot of people who weren't would want to do the same as well.

Looking back at the flashback scenes you begin to see them in a new light. Those father/son movie nights turned out to be date nights:hhh:. In the sitcom episode from season 2 you keep seeing Elliot's father tell him look forward and keep his eyes on the road and don't look back (metaphorically talking about his past) and that people will be trying to break them apart and that he will never let that happen. Sounds like pedo shyt now. The way he enabled Elliot after Elliot stole money from the customer at the store and rewarded him by taking him to the movies now feels like a pedophile trying to maintain good standing with his victim.

The dream sequence in season 1 when they ask him what's his monster. Also the season 1 finale when Mr. Robot and the entire family appear telling him not to push them away is Mr. Robot trying to get Elliot to embrace his family again without having him acknowledge his past. So much more shyt.

Yea, but the show has been teasing that there was something about Elliot's past that he hadn't come to grips with. Plus, it was always Esmail's intention to have this reveal happen and he's been dropping bread crumbs to it so its hard for me to say that it was unnecessary. The whole idea of it being Vera who winded up being the person to bring this out of him is what's unnecessary. I felt like they coulda gotten this reveal without having to get into this irrelevant storyline with him.

i gotta say, some of yall acting like the very first scene of this show wasn't him hacking a pedo.

this clearly isn't just some random swerve. i think some people just mad their theories may have been off. :jbhmm:

the reveal really just makes me want to go back and rewatch the whole series with this knowledge, but there isn't enough time for that now. :damn:
There has to be time

Yeah, last part I certainly agree with. We re-introduce Vera for this?! Could have just used the doctor I think, but whatever.

But his main motivation to fukk with ECorp is because they did shyt to kill his father. His hate for the big conglomerate that cares only about profit and doesn't give a fukk about the people it hurts is connected to the death of the man we thought, was a loving father, someone Elliot had a good relationship with.

Does Elliot even do this if he remembered what his father did to him and shrugged off his death like his mom did, or him and Darlene did their mom?

Possibly, it's really up to the writer. Take a step back, as compelling a story this is it is fake. We were all perfectly fine with his motivations before this reveal. If this helps explain his motivations even more and it works for you fine. I'm just saying I didn't find it necessary. :yeshrug:

The sexual abuse doesn't explain his motivations behind the hack, it muddies it. Dude was seeking revenge for a person he now realizes didn't deserve that shyt.
