Watching that doc and it's obvious Vince let someone get in his head. That shyt was mediocre at best, and didn't reveal anything that the majority didn't already know. Meltzer being a part of it was laughable as well, because he's been obsessed about that WM3 attendance number for 30+ years(quiet about the All In attendance though):sas2:.

Yeah, That not being able to afford Bret shyt still makes no sense to this day tbh.

He paid Shawn 750k a year even when he couldn't wrestle. Vince clearly just made his choice. It's not like Austin was on the level he would be a year later which would have made letting Bret walk make more sense, and he never had Bret put over Austin even knowing he was leaving.
I feel like he just got tired of the HBK vs Bret backstage shyt and chose HBK over Bret which is wild but yeah.

HBK is 7 years younger, brought everything Bret brought to the table (on-screen anyway), fit better into the direction they were moving in and he was probably a little cheaper at the time. It ticks a lot of boxes.

That decision lowkey saved Shawn's life too. It kept him in a place where HHH could babysit him when necessary and the back injury at the Rumble got him off the road and gave him a chance to clean himself up and find God. Pilled up HBK running around with his bad influence friends and Turner money could have went south quickly.

One of the best things in the doc is Bret, Vince and Taker discussing how Bret legit KO'd Vince from an uppercut. We've all heard the story but to hear it from those three who were in the room was hilarious lol

HitGOAT didn't pull any punches in the doc. If it was something Vince deserved to get shyt on, he'd shyt on him. If it was something where he didn't, Bret was just like "Nahh..." lol. All facts from Bret.

Yeah Bret was the star of the doc. Could have done without Bischoff, Cody.

Yeah we would've gotten some absolute BANGERS with him in WCW matchwise but yeah it's very likely he'd die by 02'
