Moving To San Diego

As with any major life-altering decision I make, I figured I'd consult the brehs...

Long story short, I'm planning a move to San Diego in the next 2-3 years to coincide with my kid graduating HS.

I'd be looking to either rent for the first year or purchase a home straight away (budget around $600-700K) and was curious if anyone had any advice on neighborhoods to avoid and others to pinpoint? I've been looking a lot at Oceanside, Pacific Beach, Carlsbad and Encinitas so was curious if anyone on the board lived in the area and could provide some insight.

I've been told to avoid Imperial Beach, Oak Park and National City.

Yes but he said he had 600-700k for a house budget. So he'll be good. Its really just the housing thats super crazy

No worse than NY, breh.

Looking at the housing prices and s/f compared to my current home; I'd actually be saving a bit of money for the space I'd be getting.

I know breh, alot can change in a year.

I've been wanting to do this for like 15 years and finally in a position financially and with my career that I could do so, but I can't justifiably pull my kid out of HS before she graduates.

I've been to San Diego and CA a good 10-12 times, so I'm pretty comfortable with the overall vibe and feel of many of the areas. It wouldn't be anything new to me.

I’ve lived in North County\San Diego County and I’m good.

Not enough Black people for me, so I’m good on never living there again.

It is, so I hope breh has a good job there and saved up.

My job is fully remote and financially it wouldn't be a problem. My current home lists for over $835K, so I'd be heading out there with a nice chunk of change once it sells.

Far from a 6 figure 6 cert breh, but I've managed my money wisely over the years and am laser-focused on finally making this move happen.
