Book of Eli was a hit and almost gave the Hughes Brothers their first 100+million domestic gross.

I stand corrected about it being a flop; unappreciated is more accurate.

Just watched it again off the strength of this thread reminding me and damn, this is the most underrated movie of my lifetime.

I really wanted Metro to be a hit, I enjoyed it back then and still do now, its a good action movie. Kind of like Beverley Hills Cop 2 but not as good but still worth watching.



Great villain too, you might remember the actor as Top Dollar from The Crow.

License to Kill and it's a shame too because they really were planning a third Timothy Dalton bond movie. But problems with MGM halted all bond productions and left the franchise up in the air until Brosnan took over in the 90's. I wonder how things would have turned out if License to Kill was a hit and didn't flop in North America.

This movie is awful.
It had spectacular reviews.
It is exactly what this thread is not about.
It would be in the overrated weird bullshyt waste of time sci fi thread.

I think dr sleep fits this thread.
It is as close to an xmen origin film.
Where storm meets the powers of jean grey minus the goddess of weather powers. Without missing out on the battle savy winning commander aware adolescent storm.
as the telekenetic astral plane powered key. to combatting the shadow king as you are ever going to get to a real quality xmen origin flick.

I was shocked to see that Gattaca and Shawshank Redemption flopped, I consider both of them classics. I showed Gattaca to every bio class I ever taught.

Attack the Block a great little low-budget flick but low budget scifi flicks are never going to do well in the box office cause people looking for great special affects and action scenes (see every Coli thread).
