Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
I thought of this when I was watching Man of Steel. There was absolutely no chemistry between Superman & Lois Lane in the movie.

She exposes his identity to the world, and he's all :cape:

C'mon.

it has a lot to do with even Superman knowing she wasn't very hot and for her to be acting like a bytch in the first half...

Turnt off!

This is one of the reasons the first Taken was a sleeper hit even if you wanted to punch the wife they kept it as brief as possible

I don't mind the out of place romantic subplots as much as I can't STAND when there's a crisis going on (someone shooting/the world is gonna end/shyts gonna blow) and they STOP then starting making out.

I wish the fukk I would see something like that in real life. If I see the only cat capable of stopping some apocalyptic type shyt getting stopped by some random woman for a kiss I'm slapping her for distracting him and kicking his ass towards where he supposed to go. I'm still annoyed that one of those generals in Man of Steel didn't flash on Lois for holding up Supes while the world is getting punched.

They do that ALL OF THE TIME. No one stops to make out in a gun fight and if they do then they deserve to get shot.

fukking Drive is almost ruined by this. Sadly it's one of the main plot points and takes up half the movie. :beli:

This is a laughably wrong pick and you basically state it yourself. The romance in Drive isn't a subplot, it's the main plot. Not even one of the main plot points, but the actual main plot. Every development follows from Driver's love for the girl. Without that, there wouldn't be a fukking movie.

... or a completely different one, which sums up how most people feel about Drive, that it should be a different movie because they didn't like the movie they got.

:heh:

:why: not liking bullshyt romantic subplots = women unappreciation ?

No, it's the collective complaining about women in every form of media that=women unappreciation. These nikkas take up pages in TV show threads bytching about women having subplots revolving around them. If a chick isn't busting her gun to support her man, then she's a waste of time. Pick pretty much any show and I'll give you an example.

I know, breh. That's why besides the first sentence, I addressed the thread with actual examples of bullshyt romances while debating the movies the threadstarter brought up.
Maybe my first sentence was a little too strong, though:yeshrug:

Romance ruins EVERYTHING that is not a well written romantic comedy...

Especially when it is one those, "we love each other so much, but for some silly reason, we can't be together" sub-plots...

not a movie but no tv character has rolled out more excuses why he couldn't be with a woman he loves more than Chuck Bass (yup, i seen all 6 seasons of that show b)
