crowds seem to have zero reactions to anything these days in theaters.
This could be cool. Have movie parties with ur peeps. Everybody contribute like 5 to 10$. Have some drinks and talk shyt 
This year has actually made me change my opinion on this. I'm actually in favor of it. You really had to put in work to see all the oscar movies this year. I had to go to the oldest theater in the state to catch Moonlight (mainly because I slacked a little but still) and to see shyt like The Handmaiden was a far ass drive.
I would support it at maybe $15 but not the 50 though.
Going to the theater is still king but if we're gonna have to drive all over the state just to catch some quality indies maybe it's best seeing it on your home theater day and date.

It has to be at a price that still encourages going out and seeing it. You can't have a new release available at home for the price of a Blu Ray and have 6 people over watching it

I was thinking of it more from an indie perspective. Like if I'm trying to watch The Love Witch I would pay like 12 bucks for it.
It was only in 22 theaters in the whole country. Had they put it up on VUDU or itunes same day it would have made more money.
Plus distribution model for indies and foreign flicks is so fukked up you can usually download a european bluray rip way before we even get a theatrical release. If any.
