The only issue they may face potentially is if they fled the scene, otherwise if his mother is being attacked, wouldn't it be in the son's best interest to defend his mother in anyway possible?
Also perhaps she can establish why she called her son in the first place ex: the man is a reputed gang member and she feared for her safety.
Willing to bet these charges get dropped, at least for the son as a minor. She may get hit with child endangerment or something.

Not saying this to excuse or deflect from the topic of the thread before any of said agents make that obvious bad faith argument to deflect from their obvious purpose. Just pointing out the obvious.

Based on that bit of information, the man was assaulting his mother, he pulled out the gun and shot him? Outside of the fact that the 14 year old should not have had a gun, the boy was protecting his mother and the Illinois Supreme Court has stated there is no duty to retreat before using lethal force in public, so essentially supporting Stand your ground tactics.

She should have a good case to defend, since she is a valid FOID and CCL holder. The stickler is the son using the gun, but nothing in that burb states she told him to use it. It seems she may have told him to bring her purse to her which contains the gun she has a license to carry.
So is there information supporting the title that is used, that she instructed him to do that or are you assuming that is the case?
