what hoods are you talking about that are beefing along racial lines?
most of the violence and murders is within the same race
Well, duh, of course most of the violence is between same race. It's still the only city I've lived in with significant racial violence...
The hood I'm from/lived in as a kid is University/Expo Park, the Bloods over there been at it with 18s for a minute. And even before they were actually going at it with 18s, there was always
tension (which, you know, doesn't mean violence). My uncle, which is who I lived with in LA, has worked for the post office since the 80s and I remember him talking about the Mexicans taking all the jobs, when hoods South Central started transitioning from mostly black to mostly Latino...
Also, you're missing the forest from the trees, I'm on your side here that LA is exaggerated and overrated with the hatefulness and tension. But you can definitely sense the tension if you are out in these Valley areas (Van Nuys/Pacoima is another area I'm familiar with) regarding these Asians and whites, and it's not always tension towards blacks.....its tension from everyone towards everyone...
Most people in LA never leave their section, but again, Crash did a great job highlighting what it's like in LA and the tension different groups feel towards each other. Anyone who has never seen Crash, it came out in '05 and is a wonderfully written and acted movie, go watch it, it's now on Netflix...
It's more accurate depiction of LA than the lazy "Mexicans gunning at blacks" takes. Again, I agree with you, the average person won't notice the tension and there isn't a ton of intra-racial violence (500 hate crimes in a city of 4 million people in a 365-day year is an unbelievably low percentage)...
Doesn't mean the racial tension isn't there, and yes, I would say LA probably deserves to be Top 10. But I actually dont think it's the worst or worse than NY for sure unless we are specifically calling out racial gang violence, and even that isn't outta control as people would believe, just more racial gang violence than other places...
I really never had problems with CAC in Memphis.
I like how Blacks don't fukk with CAC in Memphis. And CAC know not to fukk with Blacks in Memphis.
None of that fake love shyt.
Well that's the issue with Memphis, it is segregated and it's clear that (for the most part) whites and blacks dont fukk with each other. There is some deep distrust across all political and social lines and it's easily felt and seen...
