NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Pretty interesting that out of the big three of that generation, only Kendrick managed to nail his debut. Nas and Hov nailed their debuts. Big nailed his. Pac didn't but his first album isn't bad or anything.
Well J Cole’s TRUE debut was Friday Night Lights. Politics fukked up his release so he just dropped it as a mixtape.

I didn’t even think it was as bad as everyone said it was. It came at the wrong time though. He was on some technical lyricism braggadocio shyt at a time when that was becoming passe and everything was moving toward balling materialistic street rap.

Nah, he still made noise for his bars and there was an audience for that at the time. He just linked with Wyclef who was the worst possible fit. He should have been working with Premier or someone with a harder sound.

Don't buy the "flood" excuse either. RZA has an encyclopedia-like memory/knowledge of martial arts flicks and music history.

No way that he lost beats because of a flood and had to make new beats, or whatever excuse they ran with for Meth's album being trash
:mjtf: Tical was NOT trash. It didn’t meet expectations maybe but saying it was trash is absurd.
