This the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard. Don't know where you're from, but I got a shytload of professional black acquaintances that got married to their wiz between 24-27. Hell my sister is a 23 year old RN and she is engaged to her 23 year old boyfriend who is already a CSR at a bank.

Down south young black professionals get married all the time.

Now staying married is something totally different

I'm not from the south.

Maybe our population is different than yours.

Also, not to get too personal here, but not exactly a religious person.

Black people tend to be, by and large, very religious.

If you want to get married younger but aren't into religion like that you are going to have a harder time finding a partner.

Again, no where in any of my posts did I say that my sisters intentionally overlooked Black men and never went on dates with them. I said they had in fact, dated different Black guys for a while. It's just that where we live, there aren't as many in their income bracket, professional education level, or wanting to settle down. They both at the moment just seem to be settling down with guys that aren't Black.

And I'm not saying you are wrong at all. I 100% believe what you're saying and where you live it's different, but that doesn't make my fam's experience bullshyt. As you know, demographics are different from city to city.

I'm not in Atlanta, Washington DC, New York, or Seattle, which tend to be the big places where you get a lot of brothas and sistas educated and workin hard.

At the same time, me personally--I'm a non believer. So even if I want to get married and have kids (which I don't) I have to find a fellow sista of the same mindset. In my experience, I don't see much of that...and neither have my fam.

But if I do, who knows...

Also, I think we're overlooking that if there is a small amount of educated black men in a certain age range, making $$ the incentive to settle down is not as high...because women practically throw p*ssy at you.

So of course most of the guys aren't going to want to just stop, get tied down and have a fam. That's just the nature of the beast.

The ones that don't were either rejected by black men (which happens a lot) or just have more in common with someone of another race.

I was in NSBE Jr. in high school and I'm in NSBE now. Met my first longtime girlfriend at a convention. Anyway, I personally have never had a problem dating "hipster" Black women. It just depends on how you carry yourself I guess, even though I wouldn't consider myself a "hipster" by any means. All the ones I've met are pretty down to earth.

Aye breh, how that NBSE do? I plan on joining once I get my CS degree. Hope to meet some scientific-minded black woman in there to settle down with in a couple years. There are never any black chicks in my CS classes. The few I've come across...
