The gaming community has been hijacked and co-opted by white racists and purposely targeted by folks from white supremacists groups as possible recruits because they feel like the "SJWs" have taken over their video games and made them "PC" and constantly forcing in their "Virtue signaling" into their games. So since that shyt happened, they've freaked out about any black character or representation constantly. Look at the shyt about the latest far cry DLC or Wolfenstein 2.
Mainstream gaming sites like Kotaku or IGN aren't going to talk about that shyt. But if you go in any gaming centered forums, they are easy to find. They have a whole community for these folks on reddit

This isn't a fake controversy. It's not secret that the gaming community has been the haven if not the initial breeding ground for Alt-right modern white supremacists for a while now and they've taken over the scene for the most part.
