Rain carrying around a wizard staff like a bytch is just sacrelegious.
MK 11 has more features but that’s it. The gameplay was dull and boring. The variation system was awful. They blocked all the best moves, especially at the beginning of the game life cycle by only allowing two variations. That’s how I was losing to cheap scrubs like @Mowgli as a frost main. The krushing blow mechanics was awful and not balanced. Some like Geras had easy requirements while others didn’t which made them useless. And combo routes were dull. This game play is similar but the Kameos obviously make up for combo routes instead of KB. Rains moveset is not garbage. He has good zoning and anti zoning tools. Safe strings. Range. In 11, he was basically Fujin but half the fun and less damage. What exactly is Ermac summoning. He’s always had a reset, air to ground stomp, teleport. Idk what game you are playing
Maybe you just aren't as good as me. I give real hitters problems. This game is casual anyway. Short ass moveset. Casual mechanics. The art is the best part of MK now

Confusing? What was confusing for you?

Nikka I love MKX:wow: most fun MK I've ever played:wow: Complete high speed, no mercy fukkery:wow:

MKX was also great for combo creators. If you like making your own combos MKX gave you the tools. Then MK11 stripped all that shyt away :francis: your creative brain would see juggles and routes that should work, but the game would be like "Naw nikka:mjlol:"

What's ironic is for all the hate and disrespect MK gets, this current gen of fighting games all play like MKX:mjlol: games like Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 are all non stop hyper speed aggressive offense. And a lot of nikkas hate this shift but I do think it's worth noting:russ:

The whole look and feel of the game doesn't feel like MK. A lot of the characters aren't even recognizable. This was the beginning of them changing characters for no reason. Like why strip everything that made Johnny Cage and turn him into a military dad? Liu Kang doesn't really look like Liu Kang nor does Kitana and they gave her variation that uses Jade's staff for no reason.

The game just felt muddy. Least played MK.

MK11, IMO, had the best character models and the characters were true to what made them down to the call backs to the classic games. Liu Kang looks and plays like Liu Kang. Johnny Cage is fully restored to Johnny Cage even though the present form of him in the game is still a military dad. The only designs that were lacking IMO were Kitana and Mileena. That is one thing that MK1 did better than MK11.

The gameplay, IMO made way for more creativity in the combos because it wasn't so combo heavy. It allowed for more strategy and thought.

There was far more to do especially with the variations and the customizations.

:dahell: muddy? The fastest MK game outside of UMK3? Muddy???? Wtf MKX was you playing breh?:mjlol:

And people are conflating too many things in here. My love for MKX is from the gameplay. I think MK11 is dogshyt gameplay wise but I've always acknowledged how good the game and designs look. MK11 is a beautiful game, the shyt is boring as fukk tho

Agree with @JustCKing as far as storyline.

I follow this shyt for the story, lore, gameplay and characters. I don’t play video games.

The Special Forces messed everything up as well as the multiverse shyt. Johnny Cage is supposed to be an arrogant a$$hole movie star. All of a sudden this dude is risking it all for Sonya and their kid.

They fukked everything up. I just enjoy the fukkery now.

I think it's a disservice to post numbers about fighting games, especially lacking context, but you brought it up so fukk it

MK11 sold so well off the momentum of MKX. MKX, with a hard two year run, sold that 11 million. MK11 had 4 years of support before NRS pulled the plug. COVID is a contributing factor to this of course, but it is what it is

Also MK11 is the beginning of the complaints nikkas began to have about NRS, issues that went unaddressed and bled over into the downfall of MK1. This is why I hate conflating gameplay with other facets of the game. MK11 is an excellent product. The details and customization are :wow: The extracurricular fun is there, but there are glaring issues with the gameplay that began to turn nikkas off:manny:

Y'all don't have to love MKX as much as I do, but nikkas getting disrespectful with the downplaying of it's impact:scust:

Even in the midway era he stopped that. By the PS2 era he was the one leading the good guys.

Yeah, I think Deadly Alliance was the start of his character change as MK4 was the last game he was portrayed as an a$$hole movie star.

I complained about this game right from the beginning, but I was called a hater. Even diehard fans are not enjoying it and are barely playing it, it is no surprise they are ending all support due to poor sales.
I deleted this game off my PS5 this morning.

I've been a hardcore MK fan since '93. Even with that said, there has been some trash ass Mortal Kombat games throughout the franchise's run. MK 4 & Armageddon are the WOAT games in the series imo. MK 1 can be added to that list. Not to mention Midway almost ran the series into the ground with spinoffs games like UMK3, MK Trilogy, & MK 4 Gold.

Ed Boon fukked up by rebooting the storyline again with this game and creating Invasion mode which was just boring ass repetitive tasks. Guest characters that don't even fit the MK concept like (Homelander & Ghostface). Then WB wants to cut any new DLC short because them Khaos Reigns sales didn't turn out good. The add-on story was straight ASS and overpriced like crazy.

This.

I think rebooting the storyline could have worked, but they rushed it and threw too many old storylines with new spins into it. Where they could've borrowed from MKX is how they split the story into like 2-3 time periods.

Liu Kang's Aftermath ending was completely wasted. Even if Great Kung Lao wasn't a playable character, incorporating him into the story would've been dope. All we got was the Jade Jaguar statue. Liu Kang's new era starts off without any context. Shang Tsung is a failed snake oil salesman. Why? Liu Kang is preparing Raiden, Kung Lao, Kenshi, and Johnny Cage for a Mortal Kombat tournament (which should've been the centerpiece of the story), which ends up being completely pointless. Why train the other fighters if only Raiden is going to represent Earth Realm?

We get the dragon army, but they are also pointless.

The Damashi reveal as Shang Tsung was dope IMO, but did we really need these multiple timelines? It made more sense that only two timelines ran concurrently, which was Titan Shang Tsung and Liu Kang's. The outcome of the story ahould have been one timeline being wiped out or both timelines merged into each other. If we really needed to make Havik a boss and make an expanded story based on chaos, the merger of the two timelines could've satisfied this as the merger would've crated chaos by nature.
