I knew you would understand
1080P doesn't look that crisp to me on bigger sets anymore because of the high pixel density I am used to these days.
is the 1080p content gonna look any more crisp when it's stretched out on a 4k display?

Sony does the best job at upconversion but its not gonna look much better..lol..it's gonna look better than ur standard 1080p TV...but ur still gonna get those pixels..I deal wit these TVs everyday..lolis the 1080p content gonna look any more crisp when it's stretched out on a 4k display?

Probably not, but its a high dollar amount better spent IMOis the 1080p content gonna look any more crisp when it's stretched out on a 4k display?
This is exactly what I'm saying..there's literally no point to telling people not to get a 1080p TV..the best 4K TV out right now is only 120hz refresh rate..lol...Samsung is 240 I believe but they aren't as experienced in 4K technology so their upconversion from 1080 isn't as good as Sonys..it just doesn't seem worth it to me if you can't push that resolution natively
Son what 60" 1080p u gonna get for $300 bro?..if u could it's gonna look pure garbage..TVs ain't only about resolution..there's MUCH more to making a good looking panel...do u even know what brands make 4K right now?..not even all the brands have it...it's only Sony..Samsung..and I believe LG at this point..only one of em is at 240..and them shyts is like 5500 and more a piece at that size..so what options does dude have?..Probably not, but its a high dollar amount better spent IMO
I wouldn't be arguing if you can buy a 60" 1080P set for $300...go for it at that point.

Definitely, I am not saying that the more expensive TV's don't have some nice extra features. I just don't think spending a good amount of money on one is a wise move at this point. Maybe its because I just go past all the nice "TV" features and just want a nice screen with the highest resolution possible and go from there.I haven't been in the HDTV market for a minute, but aren't some of these features on more expensive TV's worth something?
the size of the TV seems to have to do with how far people plan on being from it anyway. although some people will always think bigger=better
I didn't say there were any 60" TVs out there for $300, I just don't think spending $800+ on one is wise with how fast things are moving...the 4K push is coming.Son what 60" 1080p u gonna get for $300 bro?..if u could it's gonna look pure garbage..TVs ain't only about resolution..there's MUCH more to making a good looking panel...do u even know what brands make 4K right now?..not even all the brands have it...it's only Sony..Samsung..and I believe LG at this point..only one of em is at 240..and them shyts is like 5500 and more a piece at that size..so what options does dude have?..
Son..I'm in the field...4k is coming but in the form of Blu Ray n shyt like that..the networks don't even PLAN on doing that shyt anytime soon..also..u seem to be stuck in PC thinking..we talking about HOME THEATER bro..lol...the BEST thing about 4KTv is it enables for a shorter viewing distance...for a bigger TV..ur supposed to be further away...4K reduces that..and it's not just about "features" when it comes to a $400 1080p TV vs a $2000 dollar one...shyt..those 720p Pioneer Kuros was looking FAR better than damn near all of the 1080p HDTVs when they first rolled out..it's WAY more to a Tv panel than resolution...and u don't seem to be gettin that bro..lolI didn't say there were any 60" TVs out there for $300, I just don't think spending $800+ on one is wise with how fast things are moving...the 4K push is coming
A nice home theater that is capable of watching Blu-Ray movies at 4K would benefit with a 4K TV/Monitor...if you can get one for less than $500 more or about the same price as those crazy Sony/Samsung TVs...you won't do it? What brand was it that made that affordable 4K TV Seiki? I am cool rocking a Seiki or whatever brand it was...Son..I'm in the field...4k is coming but in the form of Blu Ray n shyt like that..the networks don't even PLAN on doing that shyt anytime soon..also..u seem to be stuck in PC thinking..we talking about HOME THEATER bro..lol...the BEST thing about 4KTv is it enables for a shorter viewing distance...and it's not just about "features" when it comes to a $400 1080p TV vs a $2000 dollar one...shyt..those 720p Pioneer Kuros was looking better than damn near all of the 1080p HDTVs when they first rolled out..it's WAY more to a Tv panel than resolution...and u don't seem to be gettin that bro..lol

I would rather spend $1,200 or so on a 4K TV than an 1080P TV at this point in the game. I would like to future proof myself as much as possible. I am also not heavy into brand loyalty as long as it looks nice I am good to go.
http://www.amazon.com/Seiki-Digital-SE50UY04-50-Inch-120Hz/dp/B00BXF7I9MTV prices arent dropping like that anytime soon. Price usually determines potential quality of a panel.
What im saying is you probably wont find that type of tv cheaper than that for a long time without degrading the quality. It is also missing some features that a 1080 tv of its price would have. Thats a good deal though
