Basement getting finished next year so I have an opening if I need to :shaq:

....besides, 4K programming aint no where close to happening soon. TV stations still aint even broadcasting in 1080p for crying out loud. :why:

It just aint worth it for a 4K TV anytime soon. This one is going over the fireplace.
Exactly..for the price fam u not getting better picture quality than a 65 inch 7100..unless u either wanna spend more bread or go a lil smaller and get that Sony W900a but it's only 55inches..it's better than that Samsung pic quality wise tho..

I really wanted that 900a but like you said Sony didn't make it in a size larger than 55 inches. Deal-breaker.

Just wait for a TV that comes out and displays at higher than 1080P at this point breh.

TV's are just displays anyway...you guys should be looking to get a nice very high quality 1440P or 4K monitor at this point...its not like most on here are using Antennas anyway.

This is primarily for TV viewing in the family room going over our fireplace (sports, movies, ps3/4). I haven't decided what I want to do for our basement next year. I doubt I'd go with 4K down there though as well. I don't see myself using my big screen for PC gaming if I ever started getting back into it, so until the programming is there (TV primarily) in the higher resolutions, I doubt I'd get a 4K TV for at least 10 years.

I'm thinking though of doing an HTPC to connect to my new jawn though...

recommendations? :ld:

I'm gonna keep it real..for a TV..there's not gonna be any legit 4k content on a TV aside from Blu Ray for a LONG time..these new systems are 4K capable but there isn't gonna be any 4K games...they gonna barely be squeezing out 1080p 60fps...there's no point to be an early adopter of that shyt and the only thing I can see getting 4K in is a monitor for PC gaming or if u wanna PC game on ur TV...and there's ALOT more to 4K technology than the panel...especially when it comes to TVs...Sony renders their 4K and they up convert 1080p in a completely different way than Samsung for instance...if anything..getting a 4K led tv is whatever to me since OLED is rolling out which is more important overall IMO...might as well wait till 4K OLED TVs drop at a nice price...that's when I would drop bread on a 4K TV..monitor is a different story...since I will need it much sooner .

Who cares about TV like that these days? That's an outdated business model that no longer matters to some people...

I am in that group.

Everyone's entertainment doesn't revolve around net based media especially the general public. You recommending 4k monitors over regular displays shows that you're out of touch breh.
I'm not recommending them over regular monitors...I am recommending them over big ass 1080P HDTVs that cost $800+

$800+ for 1080P is a bit of a waste to me...

Xbox One Confirmed To Be Weaker Than PS4, Are You Still Going To Buy It?

xbox_one_60252.jpg

It's no longer being kept under wraps by an embargo by Microsoft; the secrets of the loyal members of the Doritocracy have been spilled thanks to insiders and the truth-seekers of NeoGaf. With the truthbombs dropped and the information now available for gamers, the question becomes: are you still going to buy an Xbox One?

It's no longer a debate. There are no longer any arguments to be had about it. In the same way that we know Peyton Manning owns on Donovan McNabb and the Red Sox mopped up the league with the Tigers, the PlayStation 4 now technically, spec-wise, feature-wise and software-wise owns up on the Xbox One.

The GDDR5 shared VRAM and streamlined designed process courtesy of Master Wizard Cerny gives the PS4 an obvious technological edge over the Xbox One, and while many people debated and denied it, it turns out that the actual proof is in the pudding and the facts speak volume in favor of the PS4.

Now I know some people would like to debate whether or not the Xbox One has the same features as the PS4, but can the Xbox One do native 1080p in Call of Duty: Ghosts like the PS4 and Wii U? Nope.

Can you play awesome space-ninjas saving the galaxy on the Xbox One the way you can on the PS4 with Warframe? Nope.

Can you play your Xbox One out of the box in offline mode without a day-one patch like the Wii U or PS4? Nope.

Can you even login to your Xbox One without the OS hanging up and locking up like Brett Favre's knees on the field? Well, let's refer to the hands-on OS footage of the Xbox One's dashboard...

Nope.

Just in case... eight minutes later can you still login? Nope.

So basically, one has to ask: what's the benefit of the Xbox One? Well, if you get for the exclusive games you can relish in the entertainment provided by the Xbox 720p. If you get it for watching TV on your TV then you should be in good hands with all the subscriptions on top of subscriptions. Besides, Americans love over-paying for sub-par quality and getting lousy goods at marked up prices... just look at Apple and the iPhone 5C.

The real highlight of the Xbox 720p/One is that the entertainment device has a really awesome controller that has been universally praised for being the one saving grace for the $500 console. Now so long as you don't mind paying half-a-grand for a cool controller then I guess it's not too bad a choice.

However, if you want high-end graphics for your games you probably do better going with the Wii U since it legitimately has all the popular 1080p 60fps games without downscaling or downgrading like on the Xbox One. I mean, can the Xbox One hang with the quality of the Wii U and its 2014 software line-up? Nope.

So, for those of you sticking with the green brand, how does it feel knowing that you're spending $500 not only coming in behind the technological curve but also coming in behind the relative output power of the Wii U and PS4 on the gaming front? Does the fact that the Wii U and PS4 seem to show a greater prevalence of graphics prowess deter you from your decision to keep with your Xbox One pre-order or is brand loyalty a virtue that runs strong and thick through your veins?

U got it right..SOME people bro..lol...MOST people have TV service..streaming in 4K is gonna suck ass for a while...and the only way u gonna really get TRUE 4K content is thru Blu Ray..same thing as how it is now with 1080p for the most part...the new console games ain't gonna be 4K..there's no NEED for a 4K TV fam..especially on some early adopter shyt...if u WANT to drop bread on a 4K TV that's cool..them shyts have the best resolution but ain't even the best looking TVs out right now to keep it real wit u...when shyt is being filmed in 4k is when shyts gonna get interesting..for a monitor..that's a different story tho...
