Joker just danced from plan to plan...he was unpredictable and enjoying every minute of it. It's like he didn't even know what he'd do next on some of that ish. Joker pretty much had no chance against Batman shooting the ones unless he busted some cheat code stuff, but his tricks to get an advantage were dope.
Bane had one major plan, it was more epic than anything Joker tried and it became one long painful ordeal...but how much of that was Talia's gameplan? Bane was much more of a threat to Batman in a fair one and he didn't need any tricks really. Dude stood toe to toe with Batman and SONNED him.
Idk, they're both epic. I prefer Joker but I wouldn't be mad at Bane fans. I think what edges it to Joker is that I understood everything he said he easily...Bane sounded like Sean Connery + Darth Vader and some of his lines had me squinting and trying really hard to understand what he had said. The thread where people quote him clarified some of his lines that I missed.

When you consider that the Joker turned Dent into a real villain and Batman winds up being looked upon as the villain with the whole city turning on him...Joker pretty much wins at the end of DK...and the city really did seem like a dog eat dog place once Bane put the press on everyone.
Joker blew up a judge, blew up Rachel, poisoned the Police Chief, broke Harvey Dent, and was on the verge of blowing up a boat full of civilians and criminals. He also killed a civilian every day that Batman didn't reveal himself.
whut civilian he killed?? NAME ONE the closes was the vigilante, but he was a VIGILANTE.. plus he gave the OPTION for the civilians to blow up the other boat! we have no CLUE whut he really would of down after the fact, he could of just blown up the boat load of prisoners...
his mission was to prove that the civilians are no different from HIMSELF and wanted to liberate their minds. he was an anarchist.
i like both characters...tom hardy as bane was sinister as fukk but had his flaws...ledger as joker had absolutely none...son was demonic and ruthless in every sense of the word....his performance in that shyt made me forget the character he played in that disgrace that was brokeback mountain

I don't understand how anyone thinks Joker does'nt have a plan.
He has plans...some of them are even designed to fail and seemlessly convert into OTHER plans...all just so Batman can be the only one that can stop him in the end.
