My nikka, you just don't know much. I literally worked and lived in japan for 4 years while I was stationed there. They already know that they have a decreasing population. They don't care though, and the last thing they will ever do is open up immigration. That's damn near theie worst nightmare. It's not happening.

Actually they're going to be the first industrialized country to recover from the demographic crunch since they were the first to enter it. They recently announced a lot of money to expand their navy and army so they about to have a whole military industrial complex over that. That means more jobs and more eligible men. Part of the reason Japanese aren't pairing is because a lot of men there don't make much money.

I wonder what the factors are that went into this.

I know I read that the overall male population in Japan was SEVERELY overworked and it was leading to a lot of suicides. Was this also a factor in leading to men saying “fukk a relationship” and women just following suit?

So women were able to enter the workplace and get overworked as well, that's one factor.

But I've also been told that Japanese men generally are very patriarchal, but Japanese women now can support themselves and don't fukk with men acting like that, and Japanese boys never really had role models to show them another way to go about it. So you have these two overworked genders who have little energy for relationships as it is, and when the women do want a relationship they struggle to find a man who knows how to treat them as an equal.

I don't know much about Japan, that's just one line of reasoning i was told by someone who knew more than me. Consider it just a hypothesis.

I’ve talked to Japanese young people and if you ever want to meet a group without hope lol. Look up the phrase しょうがない.


Japanese society is propped up my it’s admittedly first class impeccable social services. If that ever goes away or gets damaged watch out.
