Suns wins 4 years prior to Monty - 23, 24, 21, 19

Monty's wins the next 4 years - 34, 51, 64, 45

Coaching matters. Pistons have a nice core of young players. They need a good HC. Good hire.
Monty was mediocre until he got to Phoenix. Yes, Phoenix record improved but so did their teams.

His career coaching record was under .500 before Phoenix and he hasn’t done shyt in his career without CP3 by his side.

His in game adjustments leave a lot to be desired and he alienated DeAndre Ayton and Jae Crowder. He ain’t the god to be getting a deal like this.

Good pickup but it will be a lot of pressure on Monty to have them winning sooner than later. But if he makes them a 35 win team next season that is a double up on wins so we gotta give him time to get players to fit the vision he has. Of course Cade Duren and Jade are good pieces to have but obviously they have a lot of work to do. And like bruh said rolling over that cap space and potentially getting a Mikal Bridges when he becomes a free agent might not be a bad idea. No need in forcing an overpay for someone that might not be worth the contract he receives.

I agree but everyone kinda saw the suns otw up in the bubble. Plus Devin Booker took a superstar leap. Suns record when paul doesn’t play has been above 500 also
We did, but CP3 helped them take the leap to best record in the league good, unless you think they would have been on that same trajectory without him?

I wouldn’t have bet them to jump as high but definitely believe they had playoff potential even without chris because they still had a lot of flexibility to get someone if it wasn’t hi

Ayton is lazy and soft, and Crowder was an aging player that wouldn’t accept being replaced by younger and better. You can’t fault Monty in two situations he was in the right on.
