I don't know who assigns the value but that's what Hollywood has been acting like for decades though, like the award is some special thing to shoot for.

I agree with taking the 500k and then getting more if it leads to another special but yeah, she made her choice. I just thought after years of folks saying the Oscar was oh so important that it could at least come with some leeway when it comes to haggling. Though, staying out of the mainstream eye has hurt her severely. Then again some of that is her being blackballed and not being able to get roles like that.

Bad business on her part. I’m sure they were open to negotiation. Obviously she believes she’s a bigger draw than they do so smart move would’ve been to negotiate incentives into the contract. Then if her special did as well Chappelle’s or Schumer, she gets paid.
