In 6th grade this dude behind me kept tapping my head with a comb so I turned around and hit him (not too hard). Got suspended for 1 day and my mom said next time if you gonna get suspended for defending yourself, at least knock em outwhen we got back to school, me and dude actually became cool and no more issues
When my family immigrated at 10 in elementary i was only 1 of 4 asians in my school. Got picked on by a group of kids until i said we're fighting. That was the end of that.
Fast forward in HS another Filipino immigrated at my HS. He got picked on and he asked me what he needed to do and I say bro you gotta fight and handle it otherwise you're always gonna be a target. He fought and ended the bullying.
We gotta let these kids learn to handle these bullies. It's a life skill they need to learn.
I tell my kid you need to stick up for yourself if someone tries to test you.

She shouldn’t have come up to the school and done it on camera. She shouldn’t contacted the parents and let them know directly. Then the next time it happened caught the parent of the bully somewhere and slapped the shyt outta them. All off camera.
This ain’t nothing new really. From the time I was a freshman until I graduated from high school we had a meeting at least once a year with a set of parents who thought we were bullying his son and their friends. Had to have a sit down with parents, principals, counselors and administrators before shyt really got outta hand.
