Nas would have just come out with Nastradamus a few years earlier ....that album has bad boy struggle-to-fit-in written all over it
That's actually true AF, even the darker tracks on that album had a glitzed-out LAD vibe as though Puffy had exec'd, almost like he was forcing the whole thug poet thing and the music just wasn't good enough. A weaker version of an X album at the time. I definitely agree.

the smart thing about puff is he wants his artist to be extremely lyrical & X (although a dope artist) really dosnt fit that mode
idk man dmx is as much lyrical as pac was, I wouldn't put one above another lyrically
ppl think dmx wasn't lyricist and all that because he made bunch of hood party poppin songs, he was lyrical when he wanted to be, especially with his religious, conversations with God and shyt tracks

Son X was lyrical u buggin...especially in the beginning..nikka was outshining nikkas on tracks left n right...bodied the bad boy roster TWICE...which was actually his crew in the first place...it was cause he was so aggressive that puff ain't deal wit him..puff couldn't jiggy and pretty him up...X was a brilliant storyteller and was nice in cyphers and on wax...

First off X was a FAR better emcee than Sheek...and at that time...better than Styles too...and I been feeling like Styles been the best lox member since like 02...but at the time the only one really giving X a run for his money was Jada..I can't even believe u even questioning this...was u around at that time?..do u remember the Freestyles X used to do?..do u only remember X from his 3rd album or some shyt cause u actin brand new as fukk...most nikkas THEN..didn't think the Lox was better than X...that's a fact...

Why do you guys think Puff is randomly in the "Survival of the Fittest" Video? Crazy, Puffy was trying to sign Mobb Deep and Tupac at one time. Poetic Prophets isn't terrible just not as hard as Mobb Deep. Like NaS is must more doper than Kid Wave. Biggie Smalls/Notorious B.I.G. is doper than his 1st rap name, MC Qwest. Of course Tupac's first name was MC New York.
