i was alwayz skeptical about the pac signing rumor
pac was on a major back then -which was not the norm for hip hop artist

now nas & mobb deep was very close to being on bad boy
also thought like if biggie, nas, mobb & later on mase, lox, black rob on the same label
:banderas:

I think Puff asked and Pac shot it down quick but Here's Pac wearing a "I'm a Bad Boy" shirt with Biggie and Junior Mafia:

Why do you guys think Puff is randomly in the "Survival of the Fittest" Video? Crazy, Puffy was trying to sign Mobb Deep and Tupac at one time. Poetic Prophets isn't terrible just not as hard as Mobb Deep. Like NaS is must more doper than Kid Wave. Biggie Smalls/Notorious B.I.G. is doper than his 1st rap name, MC Qwest. Of course Tupac's first name was MC New York.

:scusthov: Nas would have just come out with Nastradamus a few years earlier ....that album has bad boy struggle-to-fit-in written all over it

And don't forget Puff passed on DMX at first and then wanted to sign him when he saw the demand for him...

no it didn't...it wasn't a great album but there was only like 2 commercial sounding songs on the whole shyt...that album is kinda dark to be honest...
Nah don't get me wrong...I like the album, but he definitely ventured from his usual path on most of those songs. Everything sounds commercialized

Son look at the tracklist...Life We Chose sound commercial?..Some Of Us Have Angels?..Project Windows?..Come Get Me?..Shoot Em Up?..Last Words?..Family?..God Love Us?..New World?..The Outcome?..only Nastradamus...You Owe Me..and maybe Big Girl sound commercial...everything else sounds kinda dark and moody to me...

i hear ya... and to all the conspiracy theory types - it was supposedly the reason pac got clapped in quad studio

but anywayz... i just could never understand how would a '94 puff daddy that only had limited resources could buy out pac contract when he on one of the biggest recording labels -interscope- esp when pac probably had several more LP to complete his deal

just dosnt make sense -shyt alwayz been:duck: to me

:patrice:
for some reason i dont remember ... but i can see puff passing on X
the smart thing about puff is he wants his artist to be extremely lyrical & X (although a dope artist) really dosnt fit that mode

nah
dont fall into the hate puff soft/commercial trap - 'hate me know' 1 of nas hardest songs ever
