I would rather have drafted a future 5-10 year starter at FS with our 2nd round pick than a rotational Dline piece that will play like 30% of defensive snaps.

If we got a decent safety, something we literally haven't had since like early-mid 2000s, we could actually play one high safety scheme so many defenses use. Right now I don't really feel comfortable with Heath or Woods being the one high safety. We run a lot of 2 high safety sets.

Don't look at our passing plays above 20 yards allowed as some measure of the type of defense we are. Our personnel limits the type of defenses we can deploy and what Richard is able to do. Cause he has 1 All-Pro corner and a bunch of guys who may or may not play well on a given week.

And I don't think it's fair to look at the Rams game and say that's what our downfall was. It was one game. That was the exception, not the rule. It was poor effort and discipline. Guys didn't win in the trenches and our LBs couldn't shed blocks and our Safeties took bad angles. That's why fatass CJ Anderson and tendinitis Gurley ran on us.

FS/SS is just as big a need as DT. You can sign a guy in FA to be your DT. You can draft a guy in the 3rd or 4th to be your space-eating DT. They're easier to find and a LOT cheaper than quality S.

Playmaking DBs that get picks or make QBs hold the ball for a second longer are few and far between. We had our pick this year of whoever we wanted at FS and we passed. For a rotational player on the line.

We always go for rotational players on the line. How has it worked out for us?

These nikkas just want to draft a random Safety just to be drafting one. :mjlol:

We saw how that worked 2 years ago.

When nikkas just wanted them to draft Corners just to be drafting Corners.
Chido is a starter breh. Anthony Brown is our slot starter. Byron is our CB1 starter. We've drafted all our starting 3 CBs in the last 4 years.

We get our Safeties from the dumpster pile.

I'm not even necessarily hating on Hill. Just frustrated they don't give af about a position every other team seems to value. Except ours. And I wonder why we don't see an NFC title game since forever.

I'm talking about the Chido/Lewis draft.

y'all just wanted them to draft Corners just to be drafting them.

Chido and Lewis are both trash IMO. :camby:

lol what would you have them do?

We lost to GB to Aaron Rodgers 3rd and 20. We needed an edge rusher (Taco) and DBs to cover guys (Chido and Lewis).

Just cause the player doesn't pan out doesn't mean addressing a weak spot on your roster was a bad idea.

And this wasn't just "drafting a safety to draft one." This was drafting THE highest rated Free Safety on most boards.

Letting the position go unaddressed until some scrub from A&M late in the draft is drafting a safety just to draft one.

This play was a terrible missed holding call against David Irving.

Byron Jones dumbass was also at fault for not staying with Cook.

Also, the Cowboys need a safety last year and drafted LVE.

3-4 Safeties wouldn't have went ahead of him if he was so highly rated on most boards.

The coaching's been bad. Not the talent.

And not every draft pick is gonna be one of the 30 visits or private workouts. Only so many guys you can meet in person

This x20. People think all of a sudden our run d got trash when we been shyttin on everybody run offense all year. Out the blue the Rams offense pushin people around. Nahhhh that was coaching exposal. Ima throw Richard in there too, he guilty by association.

Ya, last year they needed a Safety and they chose to draft OL in the 2nd round

This year they needed Safety and they chose to draft OL in the 3rd round

LB was a big need last year. We had glass Snake and 1.5 legs Jaylon. I may not have loved the LVE pick initially, but no doubt it was a big need.

Be in a passing league and have your 2 backend pieces both be below average, brehs.

We'll always have needs. They will all be addressed. All of them except Safety.

Maybe we can get Major Wright on a 1yr deal :heh:

Below average? You trippin. X was at the very least average. I thought he was good. Not very good or great. He’s better than any rookie safety this year. I don’t recall anybody making him look bad last year.

A random safety = better than Jeff Heath at minimum

And what does drafting corners have to do with this :gucci:

Maybe the corners would look better with competent safeties behind them :ohhh:

yall buggin way too hard over a position that if you find someone who stands out, its a crapshoot.

Yall dont know what Thornhill was. Im def aint gonna shyt on the Cowboys for not drafting him
