People really underestimated atl diverse demographics consisting of foreign Caribbean,Latino, African immigrants and, hipster white people. Even though the city is considered the AA mecca and is heavily influenced mostly by AA southern culture you still have to account for the other groups influence as well. Hopefully those groups are able to introduce and influence young AA brehs and brehettes to the game, especially young brehs because I know football(NFL) and basketball are our(AA) favorite sports but we need to face the facts that no matter how skilled you are not everyone is going to be height and size wise able to play those sports at the highest level, unlike in soccer where it usually doesn't matter.
Soccer will thrive in ATL. Theres a lot of suburban club teams with shyt to do now. Great move.

that's all good but I think the Atlanta academies should reach out to the inner city as well thus expanding the range of talent to work with.

That chant at the end gave me chills, can't imagine how it was in the stadium

After the match the Migos gather around the big Falcons statue in the front beating drums and playing horns chanting Spanish and dancing. The atmosphere at the United matches is waaaay more lit than the Falcons games. They love that Josef Martinez dude too

Cutting through the rich Midtown neighborhoods I seen more Atl United flags hanging from houses than I’ve seen from the Falcons Braves and Hawks in the last 10 years combined. The inner city of Atl is mostly white. If by “inner city” you mean black kids, it would be nice but honestly they don’t have to. It was tons of Spanish kids (not just Mexicans) that were there and excited. I would love to see more American black kids involved in soccer, but right now blk youth is more into basketball then football

It's going to take years before that happens. First they need someone they can identify with in the MLS.

I don't even think most of the majority black high schools have soccer teams. The ones that do, the teams are full of Hispanic or African kids.
