Nah Vegas is different.

You drive 30 mins outside of NYC and you’re in beautiful suburbs.

You drive 30 mins off the Strip in Vegas and you might actually get buried in one of those holes Joe Pesci talked about in Casino.

:picard:

You ever make the drive from LA to Vegas?
Once you pass Barstow, it’s one big open swath of nothing until you get to the strip. I’ll bet that you could take photos of Vegas off the strip and ask people “Is this Las Vegas or Baghdad?” and it would legitimately be a difficult question.
facts...nothing but dead yellow grass

I thought Chavez Revine was revered in LA?
I went albeit like 15 years ago and it was dope.
I went to a game at Dodger stadium 3 weeks ago for the 1st time. Its old and outdated for sure but its not in horrible shape for a very old stadium. I went to a Sunday game and it wasnt close to full, and I also left after 7 innings so didnt get to experience the terrible traffic leaving the stadium.

These big cities (Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston) need to update their stadiums and get with the times though.

You know I didn't really walk around the stadium. I might have been charmed by the revine aspect. You park, walk in the stadium and you are in the bleachers. It was unexpected.

Yeah, the most wild thing to me was to get in the mezzanine, you had to take an elevator if you are already inside the stadium. There were no stairs or escalator. So an old stadium for sure.

Nah, not really. LA has multiple nice areas, SF is the nicest outside of downtonwn/finacial district an fisherman’s wharf. NYC has way more to offer than Times Square. Vegas and Miami are depressed cities that happen to have major tourist hubs in the strip and south beach.
Yeah I don't know where this extra expendable income from Vegas residents is going to come from for the A's. You need a lot of suburbs and wealthy suburbs to pull from to support the massive baseball schedule.

What's going on Oakland brehs? Why y'all losing all of your pro sports teams? :lupe: Warriors in San Fran, Raiders in Vegas, and now the Athletics going to Vegas, too. :patrice:

i would say they need to be moved off the face of the earth if they weren’t free money to bet against.

Vegas metro has a population of around 2.8 million which puts it around St. Louis and San Diego. It's a viable market.

A 35,000 seat stadium is perfect for Vegas. Probably could average around 20k a game.

I'm sure the stadium will have all the latest bells and whistles which will make it attractive to tourists.

Need to change their business model as a franchise. When the initial novelty wears out Vegas residents ain’t gonna bother with a cheap franchise when they already got the Knights and Raiders.
