This is probably true but this honestly isn't that important for me when I watch star wars.
I haven't even seen ROS, because I gave up on Star Wars after TLJ. But it is in no way better than TFA. TFA is a soft reboot of a new hope and as such, lazy film making, yes. But TLJ is just an absolute disaster.TLJ is overly hated on TheColi. That is facts and I will stand by this.
The movie is several leagues above TFA and ROS.
Now people are finally bouncing back but they are doing the opposite problem by over-gassing it heavy. It doesn't stand on the same footing as the GOATs. Placing it by Blade Runner/TDK/The Thing is disrespectful & trolling and will just make people here hate the movie even more.
The problem with the critique of the movie was, that rightwing snowflakes made it about a supposed woke agenda, that ruined the movie, even though that had nothing to do with why it was bad.
The movie sucked, because the plot made no sense, it was structured catastrophically, the humor was cringe worthy and an egomaniac director decided to just trash everything that was set up in TFA to subvert expectations, without providing anything as replacement for a continuous story arch. Rian Johnson is just not a very good director and he absolutely does not know how to do a blockbuster movie. And the people in charge at Disney failed to properly set up a trilogy and tried to wing it instead, which failed spectacularly.

This I agree with.
People gave TFA a pass which ruined the trilogy. It was an awful set-up, to begin with and forced Rian's hand at least on the Luke front (Canto Bite was all him).
TROS was an abomination.
This is what people are afraid to admit TFA was really a shytty movie to start a trilogy with and it set up all the bad shyt we'd continue to see in the trilogy.

It's objectively the best of the new trilogy.
Problem is people want a Star Wars movie first and foremost, not necessarily a good movie.

THe last Jedi was the first and only movie I ever walked out on. I was disgusted at their use of Luke sky walker. It was like a bad CW show, without any hot chicks. Just a bunch of whiney emotional babies

the whole problem with TLJ is that it's a bad movie. It has everything that belongs in a Star Wars movie: Lightsabers, Jedis, space battles, droids, you name it. The problem is, that it completely failed at stringing these things together into a coherent plot. As somebody else said, it feels like terrible fan fiction, the only difference being, that somehow this fan managed to convince some moron to hand him a 300 million dollar budget to turn it into a movie.

It's better than ROS but that's where it ends.
TFA is objectively a better movie with a better plot. It just lacked originality.

At the end of the day you can’t make people happy with sequels, prequels franchise type of movies because people already have the movie made up in their mind.
The audience complained that The Force Awakens was too much like A New Hope then they got the complete opposite in The Last Jedi and still complained.
Then they got a little bit of both in the last movie and still was bytching.
