I don't know about best in the franchise, but I enjoyed it. The final installment tho
Abrams is a hack who cowardly and shamelessly remade ANH with TFA but the TROS disaster was entirely Rian Johnsons doing...
The moron closed every single plotline with the second movie in a trilogy leaving whoever had the terrible task of directing the final installment with nowhere to go with it...

They had no other option but to rely on nostalgia and fan service their way out of that shyt, it just looked desperate and proved none of those tactics work.
They had all the time to write a badass script with the return of luke skywalker, the ways of the force, training rey, delving deeper into finn's backstory, having an badass fight with kylo ren vs luke and luke stunting on him and the entire first order... but NOoooooooooooo....

Thing is aside for Leia training with Luke, the fan service was garbage, nobody asked to bring Palps back and they did it in the opening scroll of the fukking movie, you can't get any lamer than that...
Nevermind the fact bringing Palps back completely shyts of Anakin and ROTJ...
But they had to do something drastic to save the trilogy thanks to the dumpster fire that was TLJ so I can't blame Abrams for literally pulling Palps out of his ass...

Add to that fact that he was alive this whole time but was just sitting on exogul chilling with his own Fleet of world destroying ships and Snoke clones. Not doing anything.
The only fan service I liked was Lando being back but he only made Poe and Finn look like incompetent dumb asses.
They tried to make this aimed at people looking to relive their glory days of the OT. But failed miserably.

I don't even have the energy right now to talk about how much I loathe The Last Jedi. Like even as someone who can fathom there are genuine issues regarding The Force Awakens I just can't process the fact any self-respecting (or Star Wars franchise respecting) filmmaker would pull the petty revisionist shyt that TLJ is.

Well if its the worst scene then it says alot about TLJ. Personally Ive seen worse fight scenes in more "esteemed" movies.
