MJF has, hands down, some of the worst negotiating tactics I've ever seen in my life.

"Give me a massive raise right now! Wait, what? fukk no, I don't want to extend my contract! And if you don't give me what I want, I'll complain to the wrestling press until you give me everything I want without me giving literally anything in exchange!"

The fukk? :what::why::snoop:

fukk sports for a second...even in our own normal ass jobs, you're offered a raise with the expectation that the raise will work to RETAIN YOU AT THE JOB FOR A MORE SIGNIFICANT PERIOD OF TIME THAN THE LOWER SALARY WOULD. What in the unholy fukk is this guy thinking if this isn't a work?

Watch dude get iced and ruin his value if this isn't a work. THIS is the kind of recalcitrant backstage nonsense people should be getting up in arms about, not, say, Sasha and Naomi protesting idiotic, shortsighted hotshot booking via walkout.

Maybe MJF feels a way about his good friend Cody being shown the door while Tony continues to transform the company into NXT 1.5 and wants to follow Cody to WWE out of solidarity regardless of what AEW's offering :manny:

I would just do my business tomorrow then request my release instead of ditching a PPV though, seeing how WWE reacted to Sasha/Naomi walking out you can't help but think they probably wouldn't be too fond of this way of going about things

This is truly puzzling regardless if it's a work or a shoot. The most bizarre thing is that MJF comes out looking stupid in either scenario. Would've never expected it considering how he was doing a perfect job with his free agency (that's 2 WHOLE fukkING YEARS away) :why:

And if it is a work, it's a case of TK being too much of DVDVR shytposter and stupidly overbooking something he had done an impeccable job building towards.

So every WWE new star flop for years, and the next new top guys don’t look good so far, so Patterson and Brisco are begging for a guy 100% build and molded by Tony Khan booking. Make it make sense yall

molded by Tony Khan booking :why:

He has the same gimmick and look from when he was in MLW, Tony Khan changed zero from when he was on the indies

Yeah, like this is about as dumb and shortsighted as I've ever seen. Like my guy, you got SIXTEEN MONTHS left on that fukking deal andbyoure gonna be signing a long term deal if TK pays you what you want in 2024 anyway. That's why I think he's trying to force a release and get WWE money

I don’t see how refusing to negotiate is playing it perfectly. You’re taking away a lot of your leverage by not making it an option to sign with one of the two major American promotions. Why’s Vince got to offer him a ton if he won’t even listen to an AEW offer?

Would only "make sense" (hard quotes on this one) if WWE had asked him to get released and do it in whatever way he wanted. Vince despises when wrestlers he's signed don't commit their prior commitments (everyone is pretty much forced to do them, as a professional would) and it would create a truly horrible precedent that could bit him in the ass badly down the line.

He was playing it perfectly before what's been reported this week and today.

Dude was making his value grow and making himself becoming a free agent a talking point like he was an NBA superstar. All of this 2 whole years before that was even a reality. He was basically putting in everyone's mind that whoever wanted to sign had to drop the bag because either side would want him, and there would be so much buzz about him being "available" (after 2 years of buildup basically) that one company would for sure pay him a fukk ton of money.

What's transpired this week basically shyts all over that strategy for no good reason and it's truly puzzling to me.
