The records speak more so of longevity, because he played 20 years in the NHL. If you look at Jordan's career objectively, he only played really 11 NBA seasons. 1986, He broke his foot and missed 64 games, 1994 (retired), 1995 (played 17 nba regular season games) 1999, 2000, (retired) then the last 2 wiard years. There's no doubt Jordan would be the leading scorer in NBA history had there not been unfortunate mishaps which cost him to miss numerous NBA seasons in his prime. It looks like an excuse on text, but it's actually an objective and sensible reason.

You can only go on what took place on the field/court/ice, not this woulda coulda stuff.

I can't deny Ruth's talent but him only playing against whites should be equated in. Ruth didn't play against the best talent while Bonds did and dominated.
