Source close to Brooklyn PG Deron Williams says Houston not likely to be added to his free agency wish list even if the Rockets get Dwight Howard. Williams is focused on the Nets or Dallas, his hometown team. If Williams felt differently and headed for Houston, and Howard signed the extension that no one thinks he'd ever sign, I'm guessing Rockets GM Daryl Morey would then be given a 27-year extension of his own.

Actually I didn't contradict myself. Im saying it's easy to get an average 2 guard but there's only like 4 elite ones in the league. Brandon Rush is a average 2 guard and he's a non-starter for us. Yall got robbed without a pistol.

But that was there at 18? :rudy: All the good SG's are going before our pick. If they kept the pick, do you realize who the pick may have been? Royce White. That's really the only guy they scouted that was in that range. This isn't a robbery for either side. It's just the kind of deal you get for the 18th pick.

And do you not realize that this team hasn't had a good SG since Sprewell? Chase isn't here to be a SG. Worst case, he relegates this disaster named Wes Johnson to the bench permanently. That's a good thing.

Hopefully this team can sign Shved to play SG.

I think yall coulda got JR Smith for the right price if a 2 guard is what you need. shyt Sacramento woulda gave yall Thornton for Wes probably.

Maybe the Texas peeps can answer this, but (other than Cuban and Dirk) why are D. Will and Howard steadfast against going to Houston and dying to go to Dallas? Mavs & Rockets both play in a state that has no state tax (more money in their pockets when they sign the dotted line), Houston has the better overall basketball history, it's a bigger city than Dallas, and it's right by the water.

Mark Cuban is the difference. Before him the Mavs were :flabbynsick: for almost two decades. It doesn't hurt that you are playing in a city with the Cowboys too who have brought a certain media focus to Dallas. The Rangers are beastin now too. Heck they even have ESPNDallas, it has become more attractive to play there over the years. There fans also demand championships.

great trade for the rockets

even if they dont get dwight, theyre in a great position to tank

3 first rounders this year plus donatas motiejunas is coming over...plus chandler parsons...

those 5 guys are locked up for the next 4 years and will make a combined salary of 5-6 million dollars a year

rockets could take kendall marshall with one of those picks, gamble on perry jones with the other, and then use the last pick on sullinger. :wow5:

between those 5 guys listed, at least 3 will prove to be worthy of playing 16-20 minutes per game, worst case scenario.

rockets would be able to add 2 or 3 max free agents and still be able to have talented depth around them

Rockets need a big man, not PF's being forced to play center or undersized ones.

Sullinger is out. We need to trade up to get Leonard or Zeller.

:sadbron::sadbron::sadbron::sadbron:

I was all excited for draft day, now I don't even wanna watch.

You were pumped for the 18th pick? Buddinger will help out more next season than whoever we would have drafted at 18. I'm fukking tired of waiting for players to develop and looking towards the future...been doing that since Garnett left. I wanna win right now. Now if this is all the Wolves do this offseason I will be pissed....but as of right now we upgraded at this position.

being by the water has nothing to do with it. they are virtually the same city although sports are taken more seriously in Dallas. the biggest difference is Mark Cuban and his treatment of the players and dedication to winning.

personally I'm a little shocked D-will wouldn't consider houston. to me i'd rather be a quick 30 minute flight away from my hometown then actually in my hometown with all the distractions.
