I can see both sides of the argument. Are celebrities rich, yes but there are levels to that and even if you can buy another house it still takes an emotional toll and a lot of these people have children, pets etc.

On the flip side of that. People are suffering right now. Most average people do not make enough to own a home and even the ones that can it can be tenuous because the banks are waiting for homeowners to slip up so they can forclose on the house and turn it into a rental property. So they're not going to be as caring for the elites who have options in the long run.

When Tina Knowles posted about her Malibu bungalow burning down, the first comment I read was your Daughter & son in law just paid $200 million cash for the most expensive home in Malibu, you’ll be alright
:wow:

Damn 2025 Year of the crash out is in full motion. It’s been non-stop fukkery since the first of the month.

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
Of course some miserable people will find joy in this. They find joy in much worse things than burning houses.

But if you are one of the rich celebs who lost their houses, you can't post on social media and expect 100% sympathy. There will always be outliers and trolls even though most of the responses are concerned people.

In rough times it's human nature to find scapegoats. It's part of the evolutionary coping mechanisms. Although making it about how one responds is not as bad as the MAGA radicals who are blaming DEI for the fires. I swear DEI is the new N-word for racists.

Social media about to get real spicy with this clear divide in the social classes currently. They're going to need new distractions to get this toothpaste back in the tube.

Moral is shot. They better get them aliens to pull up. How you going to have hope when a person with 34 felonies is leading America and all the rest of the world leaders being trash. It’s hard to have empathy for others when you can’t survive for yourself and the answer is always to try and help others and be nice to each other but it seems like that’s easier said then done these days.

People can not like that this sentiment exists in people but as with the Luigi situation it exposes a society that has a rot at a systemic level.

Record high homelessness

Record high suicide rates

Cost of living soaring

Bankruptcies surging

Child poverty rising

Life expectancy dropping

Stagnant minimum wage

Obscene income inequality

Widespread food insecurity

Credit card debt crisis

Student loan debt crisis

Mental health crisis

Millions without healthcare

Environmental catastrophe

Unrelenting gun violence

Systemic racism/bigotry

Broken immigration system

Civil rights under assault 24/7 mass surveillance

Skyrocketing military spending

Government-sponsored war crimes

Of course a lot of the public isn’t going to care about the problems of perceived rich people as they feel that they don’t care about them. Whether this sentiment is right or wrong is irrelevant. It’s indicative of the modern mood.

Extreme wealth inequality will do that. I personally empathize with anyone that lost everything they had to the fire and especially feel bad for the folks who were middle class and below that have to rebuild their lives.

But I'm not about to feel any kind of way about a person who's less empathetic than myself about the rich taking an L. That's the environment you create when you have a system that distributes wealth so unevenly.

SMH people are weird. Even if they had billions, seeing your property and everything in it gone in moments isn’t something you can just “replace.”

You can’t buy back the memories, the priceless items with sentimental value. And buying another multimillion dollar domicile isn’t easy or fun.

I feel bad for ANYONE that lost anything in those fires. My family in LA was able to get to LV for the time being. Ish is scary out here. Bezos could’ve lost a property and I would feel for him and his family as well

Not to provide excess sympathy to celebrities either, but a lot of these people will NOT be living in LA anymore. Land value has shot up so yearly property taxes gonna kick people’s ass :francis:

As I stated in the celeb fire thread, it's more of folks getting tired because they are tired. This country is falling apart and the elites are looking like food to the hungry and deprive.

The moment you see places like this being affected, of course it's "fukk em". Yet, the reality is that there are some folks that didn't deserve such woes, thus why it's a double edge sword.

At the end of it all, they are all going to be alright due to the benefits being on their end.

Meanwhile, the other side of LA dreamt of having such luck of even having a big ass house...yet alone two.

Shoot, you have Coli brehs stuck in the trenches praising the lord that they at least have their homes as the fires didn't hit those parts. Maybe this is a wake up call for heads to see that this is us Vs them.

Agree.

I saw a stat where there are about 350,000 - 400,000 churches in the US and about 650,000 homeless people. Meaning if every church took in 2 people we could get rid of homelessness. (I get that there are cases where people don’t want to get off the street etc)

But there is such a huge inequality in this country at some levels that it’s understandable why some people lash out against the well off

there are over 70,000 homeless people (1/3rd of which is black) that are at risk and will probably die without masks or escape routes

but you wont see Shaderoom, Balleralert, CNN, or FOX show them

instead they keep showing us multimillionaires who lost their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th home.
