Most of the workforce back then had 0 college experience and yet jobs got done.
Somehow now you need a degree to answer a phone?
Obviously there are some roles that require higher education, but for entry level positions its completely overvalued.

If the k-12 is garbage if it requires a college degree to turn on a copy machine then get the degree.
Truth is even those barriers are going up. You practically need a masters degree for anything now, unless you have 10 years of experience
They want you to have the equivalent of 25 years experience but be 25 years old and pay you 25k.
If people sat back and really thought about how fukked up this country is and it's going to get much worse they'd be very angry. You're set up to fail in many cases but America is indoctrinated to blame the victim so the Government and business can pull baldfaced fukkery with almost no repercussions.

Yea i tell people that work general labor they should be using that to network with others. Employment is a platform for yourself, its about what you do with it
No one is saying that you shouldn't get the degree. We are saying that this barrier is more of a reason why people are less likely to work rather than the oft brought up "millennials are lazy, etc etc etc"

That's exactly the wrong attitude to have. A college degree is damn near a lifetime investment and you are advocating that people just go along with this bullshyt system? Sure, they'll require the degree to turn on the machine but they are going to pay you GED wages. America's go along to get along mentality is going to be the death of it. At some point there has to be a pushback.

An entry level engineering position at Boeing or one of the large defense contractors I can understand needing a degree and experience. SECRETARY I; no! Where is the experience supposed to come from if these companies require experience to even work in the mailroom? shyt is ridiculous. I see why people lie on their resumes and interviews. And once they get a position it puts into their mind that it's okay to lie and embellish to get ahead. These companies are creating corrupt individuals and cultures with the same tools that are supposed to weed them out.

It's amazing how well they built this machine behind everyone's back but in their face at the same time. Destroying the family system. Making women feel like they don't need men.
