I’m tired of this shyt man.

This, Emoni bates, the Brandon miller saga, the auburn kid in critical who’s brother was killed….The culture is too close to the streets. Non street mfers being beholden to overcompensating hood energy. It’s sickening. And you’re a gotdamn lie if you don’t think shytty rap culture plays a part

Not even gonna front but when we were more religiously serious as a people this stuff was less common. I think currently we have an too loose leash when it comes to this immorality around the culture. Push marriage, coveting money over everything is idolatry and bad, catching bodies is not cool
A lot of people seem to think they can just do whatever immoral stuff they want or justify it in some way and be OK.

Yea but that rap image is part of what makes them popular and marketable online. Mikey got rich of a shoe deal without any real basketball success

It’s a win in my book.

Emoni situation is different

Street reputation or not if he had a 7 foot wingspan or 40 foot vertical he would’ve been a top 3 draft pick

Ridiculous logic.

1. Mikey and Emani gained status bc they were (thought to be) phenoms. Had nothing to do with “street image”. Which is outdated anyway bc the whole culture is cosplaying street image. Look at lamelo, or hell even Chet holmgren. Jalen green. List goes on. But they’re doing just that, cosplay.

Mikey and Emani were actually living it like dumbasses

2. That money will be gone in a few years and if they’re lucky they’ll be making money in Europe.

Good money, but they will have lost out on literally hundreds of millions. There is a legit value nowadays for players who can stay low mind your business and just hoop. Ingratiate yourself to a team, etc. Look at Jordan Poole, Jordan Clarkson, etc. Generational money for similar talents who just simple played the game in both ways

.

religion aint got shyt to do with it. Black folks still rank as one of the more religiously devout ethnic groups in America. Street nikkas reference god and belief in god all the time. I
in my own family I expressed worry to one of my cousins like "damn bru bru you really gon drive to XXX with all that work in the car :gucci: "

they response

"god got me cuz :wow: "
its bigger than religion. We culturally dont belief in living a square life to achieve social mobility and what winds up happening is our kids get linked in with the street shyt cuz we dont buffer the bullshyt away from our kids with potential. Its too alluring and gets too much validation from too many of us.

If he is serious about Ball still on any level

His reps in his circle should be working the phones and getting him a spot in the NBL Aussie league in their next star program like

LaMelo and Alex Sarr , Trenton flowers , aj Johnson, josh giddey

It’s probably they only thing that may help keep his profile up and gain some serious reps as a pro hooper ( secure that intl bag ) and build from there he is young enough to still get right

I don’t think he serious about ball like that tho
