He's partially right.

DC is a very transient city but even the people born and raised here hate everything DC.

People hear hate John Wall..but love Lebron James who used to embarrass us in the Playoffs every year

People hear hate Wale for every reason you can think of

We have have Cowboy fanatics than Redskin fans here.. Most of the nikkas cant point out Dallas on a map..

on this point, the history of DC people rooting for the Cowboys goes back to when the Redskins refused to have black players under George Preston Marshall. Marshall also fought the Cowboys entry into the NFL.

The Cowboys were admitted and then the Cowboys signed a lot of black players. A lot of old DC folks rooted for the Cowboys because of that and that lasted for generations.

fukk em, he gets no props after what he said about ST and I ain't even a 'skins fan. Why didn't he take Mariotti's job back in Chicago, I mean he's just as big of a faggit as Jay was. :yeshrug:

No history of a successful basketball team, just got a baseball team again, this is mostly a football town but we ain't trippin like other cities cuz we bout that bread that's the sport of choice here. :stopitslime:

Yup, Kennedy to the skins to move out of the district if they didn't sign blacks.

In terms of the athletes produced agreed, but 'skins are #1 in the DMV. Hell, all the revenue generated should at least be somewhat of an argument to why D.C. isn't a bad sports town. I won't say it's great, but there are a lot of die-hard homers from here.

you are thinking from pro sports only.

the soul of this city is bball. Athletes, nationally renown HS and AAU teams, college teams and in terms of history.

This is not a football town, but we love the Redskins.

I don't think Fagbon is even talkin bout all that tho, I think this is strictly in terms of pros. DMV's bball track record overall is strong, but in terms of pro sports 'skins is the bosses. It's a shame the Bullets don't have a stronger legacy, it'd be cool if the pro team was more highly regarded.

I will never understand why this is a talking point for so many.

Who cares if you are a sports town. What does it even mean?

You live here and you know damn well that doesnt apply to people our age. You got people here where their parents are die hard skins fans but they love the Cowboys.

Its a city full of haters...Someone pull up that John Wall injury thread from the other day for examples

honesty, dude is just talking out both sides of his mouth

back when he was a good journalist, he would always talk about DC being a bball town.

did my post not say "A lot of," or did you ignore that?

I did not say all, a lot of folks are Cowboys fans to hate on the Skins like you said. But a lot of fans have it passed down through history because of that past history with George Preston Marshall.

i can see why people would say that. certain people that is. and by certain people i mean c*nts from ohio who work on the hill and only know people who work on the hill, where people from woodbridge, VA are considered washingtonians.

people who grew up in the city and outlying parts of MD, and even parts of VA, are serious sports fans that spend way too much money on our teams that historically don't even produce. NOT saying we're a sports town like boston or philly, but then again, we have real lives and don't subsist on the sawx and AI highlights from the 90s.
