the point i was making was to the other poster whom insinuated baseball has to be by far the number 1 topic in sports media in this market

my 2 points were

1. mike kay adding peter to their show & the ratings nearly doubled, with peter having MLB as his 4th ranked among the 4 pro sports we follow

2. first take & undisputed are cleary the most revered sports shows nationally (there nyc ratings/followings are excellent) and we all know they cover about 90% of the NBA & NFL

:hubie:
we all done had this nyc sports - baseball beef for way too long even going back to SOHH
im not here to pursue you or anybody whom believes otherwise

i just drop’d 2 reciepts to prove my point
it is ..... what ..... it is

1- Their ratings are still garbage with Rosenberg and got crushed in the ny market by Francesa who talks mostly baseball

2- you still seem to be struggling with the difference between LOCAL and NATIONAL

Looks like he's back on Tuesday?

Boomer said early next month, I'm guessing that means Tuesday(which is May 1).

Man, it's gonna be so much fukkery at WFAN, to be a fly on the wall. It's clear that Boomer and Carlin hate Francesa, Gio doesn't really like him, Chernoff probably doesn't wanna deal with him anymore(they said that Chernoff wanted to give CMB more time but the decision came over his head), Maggie and Bart can't feel too happy with Mike...

I am wondering if Mike is going to do his show from his house, he's got a studio at his home in LI. If not, I wonder if Mike is gonna kick Boomer out of his office :lolbron: the fukkery

If I were Mikes age with his money I’d just do my own podcast maybe a few days a week from home.

The fact they even covered it is a monumental L

You show this much of a response to your competitor and it just accentuates how important that competitor is

well said

i felt the same way CNN anderson copper handled bill o’reaily leaving FOXNEWS
da hell would they spend 2 or 3 segments on their competition being let go
(personally i would’ve address it with 15 seconds left on the show saying “oh yeah... that clown on the other station; got fired - duces)

Why wouldnt you do the show from home?

1) He took a paycut.
2) I'm sure with a reduced salary he isn't apt to traveling 2-3 hrs for a radio show.
3) He really doesnt need to be in the building especially with his office now occupied.

Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
It would probably be easier for him to do the show from his crib, but I can see him strolling back into the studio on some

just to kick Boomer out of his office. Mike's got this thing about reminding anyone who shoots off against his throne just who runs this.

First Take and Undisputed are not comparable to a radio show. Those are debate shows on national television. You’re comparing to a local radio station designed to appeal to the NY metro area. Apples and oranges. As for Peter Rosenberg, it doesn’t matter what he likes. When Mad Dog was on all he wanted to do was talk tennis. It doesn’t matter what their personal preferences are. It matters if they’re knowledgeable on what people want to talk about. That’s something First Take and Undisputed don’t have to deal with because they debate each other, not you.

Most shows on the FAN you can talk about pretty much whatever you want, but more often than not, callers gravitate to certain things. It is what it is. A host on the fan can’t get away with not knowing baseball because that’s what people will call about more often than not.

I'm happy. As much as he can be a dikkhead he is still the most entertaining listen on sports radio period. Highly knowledgeable in most sports and he doesn't have some forced schtick like 98% of the sports talk show personalities doing it. He's the GOAT...whether nikkas like it or not. Good to see him back for what should be a VERY interesting year for the Yanks, Mets, Giants and even the Jets.

By the way...only thing I like about that Carlin trio is Bart's unapologetic real nikka views on racism in sports and his insider accounts as a former top athlete.

short of getting an established name, whoever took over that slot was destined to struggle directly following Mike. I think Chernoff understood that and decided to try something different.

word is Chernoff was willing to ride it out with the new crew but the decision to bring back Mike was from higher ups. getting him back on a discount was too good to pass up.

yup

the ONLY move Chernoff could’ve made

if there wasn't a big time replacement for Mike ; had to be moving joe & evan to Mike’s mid day slot and have whomever fill the 10 - 1 slot

:yeshrug:

and if worst came to worst - Mike coming back (joe & evan would problaly have zero problems going back to the 10 - 1 slot ; cause both of them hold Mike as the person that got them into the position they’re in now... no hard feelings)

:francis: bad move by Chernoff
