So weird how we've been waiting for a show like Luke Cage all of our life, we get it, and we're so quick to label it as TRASH and BORING.

nikka, Iron Fist was TRASH and BORING. You don't have to like Luke Cage's plot or cast as much as some others, but can we pump the brakes just a little?

The first 7 episodes were excellent. The second half was a little sloppy, but I still enjoyed it. S2 will be even better. Watch.

I think he was aight, not corny but decent. The chick that plays Jessica Jones walks too deformed and is bad built, Iron fist is too outta shape, so those were my only 2 problems. Wesley Snipes in Money train persona would've been perfect for Cage.

They had the perfect Luke Cage, Michael Jai white and those fukk Bois didn't utilise him.

And a young Mike could have played TChalla.

He's my choice for a live action Piccolo

DiamondBack seemed like he belonged in I'm gonna git you sucka, way too over the top. Cottonmouth was a believable villain and much better acted.
Believable but not formidable, ask yourself did u ever feel an element of danger for Luke during cottonmouth's existence? You can't have a whole season with just ppl around luke getting hurt no suspense. Whatever villainous streak he has ran dry the moment he didnt have enough juice to acquire the hesus bullets

:mjpls:Supposed "black" posters asking for Luke Cage to be played like the stereotypical 1970's blaxploitation version instead of a prideful, well adjusted, modern black man.
Well said, if they made him like the 70s character bet these same posters would be calling him c00n. That shyt just doesn't come off natural or contemporary in 2017

I like this rendition of Luke Cage but there's a few things within the rendition that I don't like.

1. I don't think Mike Colter is that great of an actor. He does have moments where he has charisma, but then he has moments where he comes across as wooden.

2. I don't like how they jobbed Misty Knight (fine ass Simone) to Rosario's character as far as being the love interest and central female focus. They got the nurse chick outfighting ninjas and cronies while Misty stay bleedin out in a corner. Misty should've been the top female and they should've played the angle of Cage/Misty fukkin and the complications it brings.

3. The cottomouth situation but that points been beaten to the ground

I hate the Bendis version of Luke Cage because that version is married to Jessica Jones and acts like an emasculated battered male 90% of the time.

Luke isn't a "trash talker" really maybe in early iterations he was when it was more a satire to Blaxploitation. But for a larger part of his history his always been reactionary funny where the way he reacts to crazy things that happen around him or his comment. The version of the show is very close to how he was during the original civil war comics he's very reflective of what he's been through and a moral center.

Mike Colter is a good actor and much of what he does with the character is in the subtleness (facial expressions, signs inflection of his voice) that are more than just delivering lines of dialog or talking "jive". This character has suffered a lot of loss and I think the story their telling with him thus far is him becoming more comfortable with what he was turned into and learning to let go.
