crimes nearby is based on the desire to minimize visibility and avoid police

and i been in war... I'd rather not get hit, gassed , or arrested.. But If they are gonna make a stand then , I can't blame them - and if they need more numbers then I feel we should all support it - Whether I go or not , my people are under attack so........ it might be a no brainer.

its a tough call but this is a once in a life time thing, i think this is sort of a black "occupy" movement , so do the people in charge thats why there going so hard with the national guard etc, they have enough local,county and state police for this, but they dont want to take a chance of this getting out of hand , imagine protest like this in every black city across the country

but again people need to understand that these police officers and national guard WILL NOT PLAY, if you have ever wondered if you live in the "country of the free" head down to ferguson

i participated in occupy wall street and also in occupy newark, and i saw cops lay hands on everything from white women to local politicians WITH A QUICKNESS , so trust me they are going to break out the heavy hands from a large group of blacks

I hear what you're saying, bro. And you're definitely saying the right thing. Hurting dominant society financially is the only way in which the black community as a collective can make our presence felt and our issues heard. When we stop forking over our hard-owned dollars to white-controlled society AND practice and perfect our group economics, then dominant society will actively start attempting to listen to the blakc community's demands. This is exactly what happened at the height of the Civil Rights Movement when blacks organized a NATIONWIDE boycott of white-owned public transportation, hotels and restaurants. It was only then (especially under under international scrutiny) that dominant society started to acknowledge the demands of our leaders.

But can we, as a community, ever organize something as epic as nationwide boycotts of white-owned businesses? In the age of social media, I'm not sure if we can boycott Apple, McDonalds and Hilton hotels.

Your hard earned dollar? Look at the dollars and tell me if you see any Black faces. Cuz all I see are white men. That's why I laugh at these suggestions for boycotts and other forms of economic warfare. It won't do shyt.

i'm not worried bout anything. i think they will react more viciously than the other occupy movements. I hope shyt stays peaceful though.

I respectfully disagree. If we keep more of their money within our community, we become empowered financially (through accrued wealth) and with that wealth, our community can attain power (through businesses and our internal economy) and then use our collective influence to effect change in our sociopolitical representation (i.e., through lobbyists and corporate votes ($$$)). This has worked for every other non-white group in this country. The problem (among others) is that we as blacks do not practice group economics. When we get money, we give it back to dominant society. Like Jews, Asians, Italians, we need to recycle our money within the community instead of buying into this consumerism culture.

This is the military, not a batch of city cops. Actual combat training=actual discipline. Even the lowest ranking PFC wouldn't be dumb enough to fire into a crowd without clear and present danger . Weekend warrior or not, no military member is going to fire first on civilians, guy. Let's not be overdramatic. The Guard is just posting up for extra security.

Black America is already restricted in the amount of capital it is allowed to amass. The majority of us are poor by design. If discrimination ended and opportunity became truly equal, we would contribute over a trillion to the economy every year. White America doesn't care about that trillion. You miss the point. I've been in the military for 13 going on 14 years don't play me....And yes a PFC or inexpirenenced person in general would....Any crowd has the potential to pose a clear and present danger. Dont ever think that during combat fukked up shyt doesn't happen....They'd have no reason to call the NG In with all these extra reserves.

I tried explaining what's going on to my mother and older sister as they were watching the coverage on CNN as I came back home just 15 minutes ago. I tried telling them that this was an act of war being declared on black people, this was meant to quell any black people wanting justice, this was done to protect a corrupt system etc etc...they barely looked at me and were talking about charles manson getting married behindbars then proceeded to watch some f*cking CAC movie.

I'm literally disgusted at them right now. Some people just don't want to get it. They thought I was joking. F8ck em. I hate to say that cause they my fam, but seriously, they just don't even take this seriously and it's sad. Especially if you're black, you can't afford not take it seriously.
