^that's athleticism? lol dude got a rebound and dunked it uncontested

i dont count anything pre-1980 when i make my top 5, top 10 g.o.a.t list... especially in the 1950s

to me wilt is like babe ruth... insane numbers but put it into perspective he was playing against bums. hate it or love it its the truth. bums. unathletic giraffes. same deal with babe ruth. thats why he was able to out-homer entire teams.
willie mays > babe ruth
shaq > wilt

Let's be honest here. None of you dudes watched Magic, Bird, Kareem and Wilt play. You would have to be 40+.

So unless you are :flabbynsick: status shut the fukk up. :wtb:

Bird is NOT a better player than Kobe, fukkIN STOP THAT!!!

I'm not even saying that Bird wasn't a great player, but he is not better than Bean.

I hate to oversimplify, but put Kobe and Bird on the court together and Kobe would give it to Larry everyway possible. And it's nothing Larry could do about it, but that's not a diss though. Prime Kobe(05-09) would give any defender you could think of 30 like it was nothing.

Sometimes all you have to do is give players the eye test and it will tell you who is better. Advanced stats and percentage of this +/- don't always tell the story.

There is no doubt Kobe is top 5, he is the second best perimeter player to ever play the game.

He's top 10, but you're kidding yourself if you think he's top 5.

And your hyperbole is absurd, he'd score 30 like it was nothing against any defender? tell that to Andre Iguodala, in 15 matchups Kobe has gone for 30 or more 5 times, and 1 of those games was Iguodala's rookie year. Most of their games came within that "prime" time frame you're talking about too.

Matter of fact, he averages 23.7 against Iguodala for his career and hasn't had a 30pt game against him since 2008.

Explain to me why he's top 5, I'm not the one making ridiculous claims.

You already said he'd give any defender 30 with ease during his prime years, and that wasn't true.

LMAO

First of all, I just want you to know that my claim is closer to being true than yours. Because during the years I designated in my original post(05 - 09) Bean and Iggy played 10 times. Now while I'll grant you, there was some hyperbole in my original statement. The 23 ppg you rebutted with was disingenuous, his average in the the games for that time frame was actually 26 ppg. And he scored over 30 or more five times. 34, 48, 35, 30, and 32. But that's really neither here nor there. Since I'm kidding myself saying he's top 5, name 5 better or shut the fukk up!

 at Mike Greenberg debating anything basketball related. He looks like he would squeal in terror at a hard bounce pass coming his way. And of course Cap is top 5.

There's nothing disingenuous at all, he averaged 23.7ppg over his career, is that not a fact? You're coming up with all these other nonsensical stipulations to fit your argument and cherry picking. I'm going to guess you feel Iguodala was a elite defender his first 2 seasons in the league, even though after 06 them big games from Kobe stopped completely  I could even bring up Kobe shooting 38% for his career against Arron Afflalo and you'll try to spin that.

How is your claim closer to being true, you said he's the 2nd best perimeter player ever, what about Magic? You're probably not even talking the 5th best player either, cause to get him in the top 5 you have to eliminate Wilt and Russell from the list, and if he's the 2nd best perimeter player that means Magic is below him leaving just Kareem and Jordan :shaq2: Just by process of elimination you have him no worse than 3rd best ever.
