I think Jordan or Kareem at number 1 is justified, if someone says Kareem I won't argue, if someone says Jordan I won't argue. They are interchangeable as far as I'm concerned.

I can't put Wilt at the top, he might have the greatest stats ever, but the other guys had incredible stats as well and more team success. And being a center, you have the most control on whether your team wins or not, Wilt's teams should have won more titles than they did. And his stats in the playoffs pale in comparison to his regular season stats.

Don't devalue the feat of repeating and 3peating to make excuses for Duncan.

And stop with the revisionist history. The Spurs were getting jocked going into the playoffs those years when they had the Number 1 seed or trying to defend their title. Like I said before, Duncan and the Spurs are at their BEST when they fly under the radar. U can't fly under the radar when your trying to repeat. Kobe repeating 3 times while going to 3 straight NBA finals while also under the glare and media attention of the Lakers is one of the reasons I rank Kobe over Duncan. I wish the Lakers could fly under the radar like the Spurs can do in that small market.

While I mostly agree with your assessment, big men rely off of guards to pass the ball to them in the post, which somewhat explains why wilts stats went down in the playoffs. Championships are a team effort,Wilt went to 5 NBA Finals, he just got beat by the better teams each time( namely the Celtics).

wilt has all these mutant stats but only 2 titles.. wut... hakeem played in a much more athletic and competitive era against the greatest collection of centers to ever play in league history... duncan didnt really battle centers like that but he still has FOUR rings compared to wilt's TWO.
