Microsoft: Xbox 360 is now an "entertainment" console

Only problem is how they charge people to use the media apps that other devices allow users to access for free.

My Xbox has served as a streaming box primarily for months now. Last time I was playing a game on it heavily was around Halo 4's release. Other than that, the only reason I turn it on is for ESPN, or the League Pass app.

This gen, sony has gone out its way to lie to consumers about everything.
One example, sales. Uncharted 3 didn't sell 1 million copies after it was released until who knows actually. It was reported they didn't sell 1 million during Nov/Dec (it came out in Nov) so the flagship title for the ps3 couldn't sell a million copies during black friday and Christmas. That was incredible
I bought 3 copies of the game (sold two, had my copy for free + $20 thanks to Targets buy 2 get 1 free)
You know what sony did? In January they announced that sony has "shipped" 4 million copies of Uncharted 3. Now if you try to google "uncharted 3 sold" the 4 million shipped is all you'd find. (even now over a full year later, same numbers ) This is the level of shyt that goes on with sony and its fanboys

Are you serious?? Uncharted3 our flagship title(dont know when Uncharted became Sonys flagship title) couldnt compete with MW3??

1.) Fable as a franchise on the xbox has sold extremely well. You are limiting Fable to Fable Journey which is an excellent game. And it sold more than Sorcery

So now you're including OG box Fable sales, but Sony was wrong for including Ps2 sales into their figures??

I don't purport what I say as what is going to happen but given the market realities that are out there now, they are going down the path that they are supposed to go down. If there is a time to think 'big picture', it's now. We saw how quickly tablets rocked laptops out of the way. Tablets are even invading the workspace These specs that they are putting on these tablets and phones are no joke. My phone has more ram than my PS3 and Xbox 360, think about it. Plays netflix, hulu, banking, streaming, etc. These things and more are what people are, at the bare minimum, expecting going forward. Quality gaming is a part of the package, but this business has changed now. People need to understand this point. The days of Gamefan, Next Generation and Nintendo Power being the only ones covering and paying attention to consoles are long over.

Well said. If people will pay 35-100 dollars a month in data charges to stream netflix/pandora and browse the internet on a tablet or pda, then I don't see why you wouldn't pay 3-4 dollars a month to do it on your 720/PS4, while also having the ability to play games online.

Most people are using wifi to stream that shyt with their devices instead of paying hundreds a month.. and the 720/ps4 aint portable and Microsoft don't have any handhelds like the Vita

The number of users of PDAs/Smartphones who use wifi only pales in comparison to users who have actual data plans. How do you think Carriers are making money.......

Now people like you and myself may only use these apps in the presence of free wifi because we are around it a lot but the majority of these users are paying for 3g/4g service.

When you have most of smartphone/PDA users using wi-if only, you'll see Verizon/Sprint/ etc downsizing.

Never understood this, I & my friends haven't had any problem with PS3 Skyrim, now those fallout games were a mess but Skyrim runs fine

Maybe it got an update before i copped it, idk. either way I think y'all be Talking outta ya ass half the time

It was broken about 80 hours in, got real laggy, this has been fixed for awhile now but nikkas will still bring it up just like they will use the 600$ price point as an arguement

well it's also why the DLC's are taking so long to come out on the PS3. they had a lot of problems with that game on that system. it's my understanding that although they got it running better, the PS3 version still doesn't include some of the other updates xbox and PC got
